Who wouldn't fall in love with the Water Street building, and the elegant industrial vibe? The light that floods in through the floor-to-ceiling windows makes this a perfect spot to entertain and host friends from California or adult kids who visit. The location can't be beat--these clients ride their bikes to meet friends for lunch or a tour through the Hirschhorn. We knocked down a wall to open the kitchen, and added modern furnishings punctuated by splashes of deep orangey-red. High contrast and lots of rich textures can be found throughout this urban loft. This couple purchased a second home as a respite from city living. Living primarily in downtown Chicago the couple desired a place to connect with nature. The home is located on 80 acres and is situated far back on a wooded lot with a pond, pool and a detached rec room. The home includes four bedrooms and one bunkroom along with five full baths. The home was stripped down to the studs, a total gut. Linc modified the exterior and created a modern look by removing the balconies on the exterior, removing the roof overhang, adding vertical siding and painting the structure black. The garage was converted into a detached rec room and a new pool was added complete with outdoor shower, concrete pavers, ipe wood wall and a limestone surround. Raised beds hold organic garden soil mix that ranges from 8" - 2' deep. Here you see a late winter, very early spring view of this salad garden in metro Atlanta. Various types of lettuce, kale, parsley, and chives are accented by pansies which have edible flowers. After our frost date, most of this will be removed. Inspiration for a mid-century modern dining room remodel in San Francisco

Located on the pristine Glenn Lake in Eureka, Montana, Robertson Lake House was designed for a family as a summer getaway. The design for this retreat took full advantage of an idyllic lake setting. With stunning views of the lake and all the wildlife that inhabits the area it was a perfect platform to use large glazing and create fun outdoor spaces.

This is not just any project. This is not just any house. This is a house of healing. My beloved and infinitely inspiring brother, Yeshaia Blakeney owns and runs this treatment center, The Integrity House. When my brother approached me about decorating this 7000 square foot Mediteranean home in Brentwood, I was thrilled. When he told me we had 2 weeks to complete this mission I was, well, admittedly a little bit freaked out. With the indispensable help of Emily, my brothers’ wife and powerhouse, we scoured LA to find a harmonious blend of vintage & contemporary furnishings and art, that would bring this house to life. But, before this creative process, before the decor and the art, I brought the sage and we all sat down on the living room floor, my mother lead the ceremony and we blessed the house. Hi friends! If you hadn’t put it together from the hashtag (#hansonranchoverhaul), this project was literally, quite the overhaul. This full-house renovation was so much fun to be a part of! Not only did we overhaul both the main and second levels, but we actually added square footage when we filled in a double-story volume to create an additional second floor bedroom (which in this case, will actually function as a home office). We also moved walls around on both the main level to open up the living/dining kitchen area, create a more functional powder room, and bring in more natural light at the entry. Upstairs, we altered the layout to accommodate two more spacious and modernized bathrooms, as well as larger bedrooms, one complete with a new walk-in-closet and one with a beautiful window seat built-in. This client and I connected right away – she was looking to update her '90s home with a laid-back, fresh, transitional approach. As we got into the finish selections, we realized that our picks were taking us in a bit of a modern farmhouse direction, so we went with it, and am I ever glad we did! I love the new wide-plank distressed hardwood throughout and the new shaker-style built-ins in the kitchen and bathrooms. I custom designed the fireplace mantle and window seat to coordinate with the craftsman 3-panel doors, and we worked with the stair manufacturer to come up with a handrail, spindle and newel post design that was the perfect combination of traditional and modern. The 2-tone stair risers and treads perfectly accomplished the look we were going for!
