In order to make this kitchen more functional and create a better layout, we opened the area and completely reconfigured the space. Because this house was built before 1972, we had to take special precautions during demolition and clean up to contain any lead hazards. We are an EPA Lead Certified firm, equipped and qualified to contain the potential dangers of lead in older homes. We opened the wall to the dinette area by six feet allowing a clear view to the backyard from the kitchen. An island with seating was installed providing extra storage and prep space. Everything from the cabinets and countertops to the light fixtures was carefully installed by our qualified crew, making the kitchen more functional to accommodate a busy family. Inspiration for a contemporary light wood floor bathroom remodel in Singapore with a wall-mount sink, a two-piece toilet and brown walls

Many families ponder the idea of adding extra living space for a few years before they are actually ready to remodel. Then, all-of-the sudden, something will happen that makes them realize that they can’t wait any longer. In the case of this remodeling story, it was the snowstorm of 2016 that spurred the homeowners into action. As the family was stuck in the house with nowhere to go, they longed for more space. The parents longed for a getaway spot for themselves that could also double as a hangout area for the kids and their friends. As they considered their options, there was one clear choice…to renovate the detached garage. The detached garage previously functioned as a workshop and storage room and offered plenty of square footage to create a family room, kitchenette, and full bath. It’s location right beside the outdoor kitchen made it an ideal spot for entertaining and provided an easily accessible bathroom during the summertime. Even the canine family members get to enjoy it as they have their own personal entrance, through a bathroom doggie door. Our design team listened carefully to our client’s wishes to create a space that had a modern rustic feel and found selections that fit their aesthetic perfectly. To set the tone, Blackstone Oak luxury vinyl plank flooring was installed throughout. The kitchenette area features Maple Shaker style cabinets in a pecan shell stain, Uba Tuba granite countertops, and an eye-catching amber glass and antique bronze pulley sconce. Rather than use just an ordinary door for the bathroom entry, a gorgeous Knotty Alder barn door creates a stunning focal point of the room. The fantastic selections continue in the full bath. A reclaimed wood double vanity with a gray washed pine finish anchors the room. White, semi-recessed sinks with chrome faucets add some contemporary accents, while the glass and oil-rubbed bronze mini pendant lights are a balance between both rustic and modern. The design called for taking the shower tile to the ceiling and it really paid off. A sliced pebble tile floor in the shower is curbed with Uba Tuba granite, creating a clean line and another accent detail. The new multi-functional space looks like a natural extension of their home, with its matching exterior lights, new windows, doors, and sliders. And with winter approaching and snow on the way, this family is ready to hunker down and ride out the storm in comfort and warmth. When summer arrives, they have a designated bathroom for outdoor entertaining and a wonderful area for guests to hang out. It was a pleasure to create this beautiful remodel for our clients and we hope that they continue to enjoy it for many years to come.

Dane and his team were originally hired to shift a few rooms around when the homeowners' son left for college. He created well-functioning spaces for all, spreading color along the way. For this bedroom design, forms and finishes were kept simple so as not to clash with the imposing slanted ceiling made in a natural wood finish. The modern rustic aesthetic was kept though the selection of furniture pieces that have natural finishes in them such as the nightstand with weaved door faces and a basket that also serves as a bench made of wicker. Dark wood tones in the lounge chairs and side tables create contrast to the light finishes of the ceiling and carpeted flooring.

This project was completed for clients who wanted a comfortable, accessible 1ST floor bathroom for their grown daughter to use during visits to their home as well as a nicely-appointed space for any guest. Their daughter has some accessibility challenges so the bathroom was also designed with that in mind. The original space worked fairly well in some ways, but we were able to tweak a few features to make the space even easier to maneuver through. We started by making the entry to the shower flush so that there is no curb to step over. In addition, although there was an existing oversized seat in the shower, it was way too deep and not comfortable to sit on and just wasted space. We made the shower a little smaller and then provided a fold down teak seat that is slip resistant, warm and comfortable to sit on and can flip down only when needed. Thus we were able to create some additional storage by way of open shelving to the left of the shower area. The open shelving matches the wood vanity and allows a spot for the homeowners to display heirlooms as well as practical storage for things like towels and other bath necessities. We carefully measured all the existing heights and locations of countertops, toilet seat, and grab bars to make sure that we did not undo the things that were already working well. We added some additional hidden grab bars or “grabcessories” at the toilet paper holder and shower shelf for an extra layer of assurance. Large format, slip-resistant floor tile was added eliminating as many grout lines as possible making the surface less prone to tripping. We used a wood look tile as an accent on the walls, and open storage in the vanity allowing for easy access for clean towels. Bronze fixtures and frameless glass shower doors add an elegant yet homey feel that was important for the homeowner. A pivot mirror allows adjustability for different users. This gorgeous kitchen was designed as part of a beautiful new home. The homeowner loved to cook and entertain, both function and aesthetics were very important to her. She wanted a kitchen designed for multiple cooks and lots of room for her family to gather. Traffic flow was key, it needed to flow easily into the adjacent spaces. The large island full of drawer storage became the major focal point of this kitchen. A custom grey stain on hickory was used to complement the white perimeter cabinets. The unique blue Skye quartzite was used just on the island adding a nice element of drama to the kitchen. The placement of the Double ovens, steam oven, microwave and range top was thought out carefully to meet the homeowners’ requirements.

Designed by renowned architect and 'sacred geometer' David Yarbrough, this sacred space in Corbett, Oregon combines three functions under one roof: a Chinese medicine healing arts center, a community center, and a 1400 SF new home. An earth plaster, cedar chip, clay slip, natural wood slat wall system combines traditional construction techniques with energy efficiency to create a healthy environment for denizens, care providers, and patients. Inspiration for a contemporary entryway remodel in Orange County

The bathrooms in this client's home did not fit her relaxed, sophisticated farmhouse style. We overhauled the master bathroom and brought in a custom oak vanity, an elegant mix of Carrara & Dolomite marble tile and a gorgeous freestanding bath that opened up the space. There are many unique details in this bathroom including the sliding barn door, tiled shower niche and styled shelves. The kids' bathroom was a partial remodel, but we kept the same attention to detail. This bath has fun, patterned porcelain floor tile, a custom oak vanity and medicine cabinet, and new wainscoting. We looked to Benjamin Moore paints to brighten up both bathrooms. Now these spaces are beautiful, functional and more spacious.

Carefully positioned on a site blessed with spacious surrounding acreage, the home was carefully positioned on a tree-filled hilltop and tailored to fit the natural contours of the land. The house sits on the crest of the peak, which allows it to spotlight and enjoy the best vistas of the valley and pond below. Inside, the home’s welcoming style continues, featuring a Midwestern take on perennially popular Western style and rooms that were also situated to take full advantage of the site. From the central foyer that leads into a large living room with a fireplace, the home manages to have an open and functional floor plan while still feeling warm and intimate enough for smaller gatherings and family living. The extensive use of wood and timbering throughout brings that sense of the outdoors inside, with an open floor plan, including a kitchen that spans the length of the house and an overall level of craftsmanship and details uncommon in today’s architecture. •
