Living Room in Bronco | Key Feature: A Scottsdale new-build rooted in sculptural modernism, Bronco Revival balances bold black-and-white contrast with organic textures, natural wood elements, and statement lighting. As a groundbreaking “Live Lab” designer residence, it’s a first-of-its-kind space where luxury furnishings are tested in real-world conditions before being introduced into high-profile client homes.
Challenge: Because Bronco Revival was the designer’s personal residence, the project carried a unique level of pressure and intention. The challenge was creating a Scottsdale new-build that felt elevated and editorial while still functioning as a true family home. Every selection had to balance bold sculptural modernism (high contrast, statement lighting, architectural furnishings) with durability, comfort, and day-to-day livability. In addition, the home served as a “Live Lab,” meaning new vendors, materials, and luxury furnishings needed to be tested in real-life conditions before being trusted for future high-profile client projects.
Solution: We approached the project with a highly curated, test-and-refine design strategy, treating each space as both a finished interior and a real-world evaluation environment. Key furnishings, textiles, and materials were selected to support the modern organic vision while also standing up to the demands of everyday family life. We worked through selections intentionally, layering in bold contrast, natural woods, and sculptural statement pieces, while prioritizing performance materials, pet-friendly durability, and timeless foundational elements. By using the home as a lived-in showroom, we were able to validate what truly performs beautifully, refine our vendor relationships, and confidently carry those proven selections into future client designs.

This California residence went from dark and dull to modern and bright with the help of Woodcliff Builders designer Jessica Peters. Remodeled with the thought of entertaining guests in mind, form and functionality played equal roles in the design process. Light cream tones wash over the home, punctuated by the bold statement that Banker Wire’s S-12 makes in it’s Antique Brass plated finish. This woven wire mesh pattern catches the eye throughout the kitchen, living room, and bar as various cabinet door infills.
The unique texture of S-12 brings balance to the stark contrasting color scheme throughout the kitchen. While the open-concept room boasts predominantly pale features, the highlights of the Antique Brass finish draw out the deeper rich tones in the white marble backsplash and counter tops. The shadows created by the weave of the wire mesh help tie in the dark accents in the kitchen, including the black light fixtures and the oil-rubbed bronze cabinet and drawer hardware.
Across from the kitchen, the eye is drawn to the main focal point of the living room, the built-in bookshelves. Banker Wire’s S-12 clads the four central cabinet doors, creating a unique hideaway for television components and other electronics. The Antique Brass finish brings warmth into the otherwise neutral structure, complimented by the displayed curios and the cozy furniture surrounding it. Both the wire mesh and the oil-rubbed bronze hardware are carried over from the kitchen, making for a cohesive home design.
In the home’s custom bar, S-12 adorns the front of the ceiling-high white cabinets. For this area, the former cabinet and drawer pulls have been replaced with brass and ivory colored hardware, underscoring the brass of the cabinet’s panel. Emphasized by the dark stone counter-top, the lowlights of the pattern accentuate the texture of the mesh, while the Antique Brass face coordinates with the wood of the lower cabinets, bringing a consistent appearance to the space.
“I just love that extra level of detail that this wire mesh provides for cabinets,” states Peters. “It really takes the design to the next level.”
The low open area of woven wire mesh pattern S-12 lends itself well to surfacing, cladding, and other applications where partial coverage is key. At 21.6%, only subtle glimpses will be perceptible through the mesh. Embossed and highly faceted, the highs and lows of this distinctive weave are more defined in plated and powder coat finishes, making Antique Brass plating the perfect choice for this residential cabinetry project.

Clients were looking to completely update the main and second levels of their late 80's home to a more modern and open layout with a traditional/craftsman feel. Check out the re-purposed dining room converted to a comfortable seating and bar area as well as the former family room converted to a large and open dining room off the new kitchen. The master suite's floorplan was re-worked to create a large walk-in closet/laundry room combo with a beautiful ensuite bathroom including an extra-large walk-in shower. Also installed were new exterior windows and doors, new interior doors, custom shelving/lockers and updated hardware throughout. Extensive use of wood, tile, custom cabinetry, and various applications of colour created a beautiful, functional, and bright open space for their family.

For this extensive gut renovation in the East Village, the goal was to inject a small, functional bathroom with high-energy personality and bold spatial defining. We achieved this through a dramatic two-tone, color-blocked tile application, featuring a vibrant ultramarine blue wainscoting that lowers the visual height and frames the space. This is balanced by a zellige-inspired textural white tile above, adding depth and artisanal warmth. The true centerpiece is the custom, coral-pink concrete vanity, which offers a soft, sculptural contrast to the angular geometry. Layered with mustard yellow and white striped textiles and custom, patterned rugs, the resulting space feels playful, confident, and deeply reflective of its storied neighborhood.

This recently completed wine cellar in Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego, California is great example that small can definitely be beautiful. The homeowners had a vision to redo their older, existing wine cellar - all the meanwhile keeping some of it’s original charm. The back wall of the original wine cellar / wine room was opened up, converting an adjacent closet into an additional room for the space. The rustic and traditional stone work and vertical diamond bins were kept to maintain the old world feel. Rustic works well in the luxury country estates throughout Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego, California. The team at Vintage Cellars created a beautiful and functional wine racking design in Poplar with a custom stain and finish to match the existing wine cellar aesthetics. The wine room also features high reveal display, room for case storage, and tiered coved trays for large format bottles.
Since 1990, Vintage Cellars has designed and built over 2,000 custom wine cellars in a wide range of styles and applications. Vintage Cellars offers a complete turnkey service (if needed), providing initial wine cellar design options, proper room preparation with vapor barrier and insulation, proper wine cellar cooling unit sizing and installation, wine racking fabrication with custom stain and lacquer options done in house, and final professional installation onsite. We can also design and ship the wine racking without install. We regularly work with Interior Designers, Architects, and Home Builders as well and can help carry out visions already in movement too.
Gene Walder, Jake Austad, and the team at Vintage Cellars specialize in Custom Wine Cellar Design and Consultation, Custom Wine Cellar Cooling Systems, Custom Wine Cellar Doors, Wine Cellar Racking, and everything else wine storage related. By working closely with clients, the team at Vintage Cellars is able to craft a wine storage space to match the collectors' vision and style.

This small home built in 1906 had endured countless mis-guided alterations over the years. As such, there was no existing charm nor detail to preserve. The interior upgrade of the house pursued three main goals: First, to maximize its spaciousness and the flow of light and air between rooms and zones; second, to update the house’s flow and function with the addition of an en-suite bathroom on the second floor and completely re-configured kitchen; and third, to upgrade the systems and structural stability of the house by replacing and enlarging its basement and adding energy-efficient HVAC systems, in-floor heating, and enhanced ventilation. The judicious application of douglas fir millwork, exposed framing, and carefully detailed finishes provide a sense of coherence, tectonic honesty, and occasional surprise, in crafting an efficient and comfortable home.

With a simple application for traditional finishes on a contemporary door style, or the use of more uncluttered design it is possible to create a relaxed, yet sophisticated kitchen that provides a perfect gathering place.
A blend of the clean line doors and soft edge cabinet fronts were the typical choice in the creation of this classic space that is not only functional and practical but beautiful. The island is the central focal point of the kitchen, with a beautifully crafted two-layer walnut butcher block with a slight contrast to the dark granite countertop. The detailing on the legs of the island gives the space a more traditional look.
The design concept perfectly blends with the classic feel of their home but one that was out of the box and forward thinking. This was done through the use of different materials and unconventional colour scheme. The grey-taupe cabinetry colour gives the homeowners the warm feel they were hoping for, while still maintaining a classic timeless look.
