This is where the material choice for the wet room is most legible. Porcelain tile in a deep emerald green is installed in a vertical stacked pattern across both walls, floor to ceiling. The glaze on each piece carries its own variation in tone and reflectivity, which means the wall reads differently depending on the time of day and where the light is coming from. Porcelain was the right material choice for a wet room application specifically because of its density and very low porosity, making it more resistant to moisture absorption than ceramic over the long term. The white painted niches built into both walls provide functional storage while creating a sharp contrast that lets the tile color do its work without interruption. The white freestanding tub and white ceiling carry that same contrast through the rest of the wet room.

The DryJoistEZ system is structurally-integrated into your deck, providing a waterproof deck drainage system and a finished beadboard ceiling all in one application. Form meets function with this diverse system: homeowners love the DryJoistEZ system because it doubles usable outdoor space and integrates seamlessly with any home design style.

This custom wine cellar was designed and built by Vintage Wine Cellars in 2020. We worked 100% remotely with this client to create a beautiful and functional space in unfinished redwood. This wine cellar's wine racking has many versatile features to store different sizes and styles of wines and wine bottles, such as tiered coved trays for large format wine bottles, high reveal display rows, individual bottle storage, Original Wooden Cases, and custom cabinetry. The unique shape and design of this room required a skilled contractor like Vintage Wine Cellars to design and create a completely custom wine cellar - perfectly fit to the shape and flow of the room. This client's room was actually huge - but he just didn't have the need to fill it completely with wine (maybe one day!) The front and rear walls are both fitted with custom racking, divided by open space and a large marble countertop. This room would lend itself perfectly to enjoying a nice bottle or three with some friends as there is plenty of space to walk around and mingle, as well as counter space begging to be used to decant those fantastic bottles. Although our empty nester clients were still enjoying their custom home they had lived in for nearly 30 years, they had outgrown their once state-of-the-art 1980s master bathroom. Our master bathroom facelift transformed a bathroom with carpet, wallpaper, glass block tiles, and a 30 year old Jacuzzi. It transformed into a clean lined, yet warm and inviting space that still worked with the home’s contemporary architecture. Our selections started with a natural stone for the vanity, and selecting Sapele wood cabinetry for both it’s textured lines and color qualities. Our next step was our hardware and fittings – knowing we wanted both function and visual appeal. We relocated the double vanities at the center of the room, and installed the shower on the other side of the wall creating a circular passage for flow. The integrated sinks make a statement at the vanity – as well as the large apron of stone surrounding the face of the cabinetry. Wall mount faucets, and matte textured tile running vertically complete the look. The free-standing vessel tub leaves a lasting impression against the windows. Corner cabinetry and shelves add both storage and visual appeal. Tucked in the corner an upholstered bench, yet more storage and built in jewelry organization. Large format porcelain floor tiles were installed with a smooth skimstone application on the shower floor. Amenities and special touches in the bathroom include radiant heating, LED lighting under the cabinets and behind the vanity mirrors, a large format thermostat controlled towel bar, a linear drain in the shower, and a wall mounted energy efficient toilet. A whimsical application denoting man's static nature, the Naggar sculptures give visual play to the more serious tone of the room and its message. Metaphorically, man becomes subject to his environment and is spiritually and physically beset by the mechanization of time. The Samuel Marx console and its use of lucite is timely and appropriate. It is visually light, creating an almost invisible, airy appearance, functionally perfect for an entry gallery. The lucite handles relate to the foyer piece, mediating between the gallery and dining room. The parchment mirrors the soft/hard fragmentation metaphors at play. The window cornice also reflects the Art Modern period with it very modernist silver leaf pattern.
