Inspiration for a coastal kitchen remodel in San Francisco

Across from Hudson River Park, the Classic 7 pre-war apartment had not renovated in over 50 years. The new owners, a young family with two kids, desired to open up the existing closed in spaces while keeping some of the original, classic pre-war details. Dark, dimly-lit corridors and clustered rooms that were a detriment to the brilliant natural light and expansive views the existing apartment inherently possessed, were demolished to create a new open plan for a more functional style of living. Custom charcoal stained white oak herringbone floors were laid throughout the space. The dark blue lacquered kitchen cabinets provide a sharp contrast to the otherwise neutral colored space. A wall unit in the same blue lacquer floats on the wall in the Den.

We are beyond excited to share one of our most recent kitchen remodels for a lovely couple in Delmar, led by Project Manager, Steve Drozdyk. Our clients wanted their kitchen to be as functional as it was beautiful, with storage as a top priority. Steve knew our talented Designer, Sarah McDonald, would be the perfect copilot to run this transformation. This design features rich naval cabinets that anchor the space, paired with sage green cabinets in the peninsula area for a soft yet striking contrast. These color choices bring warmth and personality to the space while maintaining a sophisticated and timeless appeal. To maximize storage, we extended the cabinetry all the way to the ceiling. The extra height not only provided more storage but also made the room feel more open and spacious. For added texture and visual interest, our Lead Carpenter, Larry Yerdon, incorporated a unique three-color tile backsplash that brings depth and character to the space. The colors and hardware were carried into the attached laundry room ensuring a cohesive design. The result is a kitchen that’s as functional as it is fabulous offering storage solutions that don’t compromise on style. The laundry room was placed between the front of the house (kitchen/dining/formal living) and the back game/informal family room. Guests frequently walked by this normally private area. Laundry room now has tall cleaning storage and custom cabinet to hide the washer/dryer when not in use. A new sink and faucet create a functional cleaning and serving space and a hidden waste bin sits on the right.

Located in the historic neighborhood of Laurelhurst in Portland, Oregon, this kitchen blends the necessary touches of traditional style with contemporary convenience. While the cabinets may look standard in their functionality, you will see in other photos from this project that there are hidden storage treasures which make life more efficient for this family and their young children. Inspiration for a contemporary deck remodel in DC Metro

A kitchen that was part of a home extension, features custom made cabinetry. The cabinets are painted with Benjamin Moore decorators white and the island is painted in Benjamin Moore hale navy, the counter tops are a Calcutta quartz, and the backsplash is a marble and brass herringbone. The appliances are stainless steel while the hardware and faucets are brass.
