“To update the old game room, the room is now called a Museum Room. A monorail tract with art lighting circles the room. A large comfy sectional took the place of the Pool Table and another small grouping for conversation.”

Game room view of the Caldera split face stone wall, the owners found this rock while hiking and asked that it be incorporated into the design. A slim steel shelf cantilevers out from the wall above the Vox billiard table. The exterior patio with seating flanks a new bocce ball court.

The redesign of the fireplace was the starting point for the project and it was totally reimagined. We started with classic stacked stone. Custom floating cabinets were built to not only accommodate the floor vent but also for firewood storage. The mantel was the final piece of the puzzle and the shape was designed to follow the profile of the wall, then stained to match the home’s original woodwork. Seating was designed to encourage conversations and board games. Accents in gold, teal, and orange add personality. Unique wall sconces and an overhead pendant are the jewelry of the room. Game room and media room are separated by an arch but still allow company and families to interact from both rooms. The pull table is blue to pull in the colors of the accent walls in both rooms. Tall pub tables are placed at both ends of the game room and a wall mounted TV so everyone can enjoy TV and play pool at the same time.

This VIP Design Day project transformed two key spaces in a DC-area home — a dining room and powder room — into rooms that feel both curated and livable. The dining room balances warm walnut tones, mixed seating, and bold artwork against moody gray walls and classic wainscoting, creating a space that's elegant without being precious. The powder room makes a strong first impression with floor-to-ceiling botanical wallpaper, a navy reeded vanity, Calacatta marble countertop, and antique brass fixtures layered with vintage equestrian art. Originally planned as a family room addition with a separate pool cabana, we transformed this Newbury, MA project into a seamlessly integrated indoor/outdoor space perfect for enjoying both daily life and year-round entertaining. An open plan accommodates relaxed room-to-room flow while allowing each space to serve its specific function beautifully. The addition of a bar/card room provides a perfect transition space from the main house while generous and architecturally diverse windows along both sides of the addition provide lots of natural light and create a spacious atmosphere.
