New Tuscan deign home is continued with a free flowing edges of the pool. The in bedded boulder create informal seating and tables tops at pool side. The beige color tile spillway cascading from the raised sit and spin spa created beautiful gentle white noise.

The pool’s deep end features a raised feature wall with a dramatic 6’ sheer descent waterfall clad in sandblasted Eramosa flagstone to match the deck. The pool’s original semi-circular walk-in steps at the corner were not in synch with a geometric look, so they were replaced with rectangular steps plus a large underwater bench conveniently situated beside the spa. When not in use, a gentle stream of water flows over the spa’s notched spillway and recirculates into the pool.

Challenge: Can you create intimacy in an open 1.5 acre space? Solved: The long, clean lines of this exemplar of modernist landscape architecture are punctuated by multiple strategically separated seating and lounge areas. The focal point of this linear expanse—a 6-foot-tall stucco wall—is pierced by a broad peek-a-boo window beneath which three hand-crafted copper spouts gently spill falls of water into the main pool. The pool itself, capped with a 4″ purple band set in travertine marble combines with the fire pit nook, spa, and outdoor kitchen/dining area features to elevate this gorgeous new construction well above neighborhood standards.

Another luxury highlight of the backyard is the 5’ x 7.5’ custom Gunite spa. It features eight spa jets so multiple users can enjoy a soothing hydro massage. When not in use the spa acts as a water feature creating a gentle flow over two of the polished charcoal tile walls. The water quietly recirculates back into the pool.

The design of the water feature is itself a work of art, with a gentle flow of water cascading from three rectangular scuppers. The feature wall is elegantly clad with white porcelain tile which aptly has a vertical linear texture. If you want the ultimate in relaxation, it’s hard to beat the soft sounds of falling water.

In addition to planting some tall trees near the house, a custom horizontal plank fence was built along each side of the gently rising lot to help ensure privacy. The fence was painted black so it would be less prominent and allow the textures and lush greens of the shrubs and decorative grasses to stand out.
