When deciding to either keep a tub and shower or take out the tub and expand the shower in the master bathroom is solely dependent on a homeowner's preference. Although having a tub in the master bathroom is still a desired feature for home buyer's, especially for those who have or are excepting children, there's no definitive proof that having a tub is going to guarantee a higher rate of return on the investment. This chic and modern shower is easily accessible. The expanded room provides the ability to move around freely without constraint and makes showering more welcoming and relaxing. This shower is a great addition and can be highly beneficial in the future to any individuals who are elderly, wheelchair bound or have mobility impairments. Fixtures and furnishings such as the grab bar, a bench and hand shower also makes the shower more user friendly. The decision to take out the tub and make the shower larger has visually transformed this master bathroom and created a spacious feel. This modern, one of a kind bathroom makes the best of the space small available. The shower itself features the top of the line Delta Trinsic 17 Series hand held shower and the Kohler Watertile flush mounted Rainhead as well as two niche shelves and a grab bar. The shower is set with a zero-entry, flush transition from the main bath and sports a bar drain to avoid under foot pooling with full height glass doors. Outside of the shower, the main attraction is the ultra-modern wall mounted Kohler commode with touchscreen controls and hidden tank. These homeowners wanted a house to age in place. They were out of space in their one story ranch and we were able to add a master suite to expand their home. We added to their existing hallway and opened up a wall for a new laundry room, bedroom, bath and closet. The space is bright with new windows and has access to the outdoors from the master bath. A large new closet off the bathroom keeps their clothes in easy reach. The couple wanted to be able to age in place, so the shower curb was fitted to allow for roll in access. The decorative ADA grab bars that were placed throughout provide beauty and function. A seat was added to the shower, along with a hand shower and niche boxes for storage. Light and neutral tile and colors were used throughout. Our clients loves their new suite and know they will be able to stay in their home for years to come. This bright washroom is built with natural materials, calcutta marble, zebra wood and glass - creates a clean, modern, yet warm environment. Grab bars were installed for accessibility, along with a wall-hung toilet mounted at universal height. The step up allowed for us to reconfigure the washroom in a condo, by running the drains within the step.

The wall hung sink and wall storage cabinets provide equal access to users of all abilities. The wide ledges on either side of the sink are extra convenient for keeping grooming products and appliances closet at hand. The toilet has grab bars on two sides to assist with transferring to the toilet from a wheelchair or a standing position. The cabinet door above the grab bar provides a second access point for the linen closet that can be seen from the living room. An LED mirror provides excellent illumination for grooming and helps make the room feel bright and cheerful despite the lack of window(s).

TWD remodeled a few aspects of this home in order for the homeowner to essentially have a mother-in-laws quarters in the home. This bathroom was turned into a Universal Design and safety conscious bathroom all to own, a custom niche was built into the wall to accommodate a washer/dryer for her independence, and a hall closet was converted into a guest bathroom. We designed a customized accessible vanity for our client based on their current and future needs. The tall cabinet is accessible when standing and the draws are accessible if in a wheel chair.

This traditional bathroom features an open shower with fashionable grab bars and towel bars that match the chrome fixtures. This bathroom is gorgeous and the perfect space for aging in place.
