This backyard landscape design is inspired by our Blu Grande Smooth patio slab. This extended view of the dining area shows a rustic stone backdrop and slate tiled flooring. An intimate dining area allows for access to a full bar across the room and utilizes a separating half-wall with millwork and a wood top. Soffits, millwork columns, and half-walls provide solutions for beam and utility obstacles. The space showcases a variety of light features including 3'' soffit lighting, exterior wall mounted lights, and hanging Tiffany lamp. There is plenty of entertainment space for a game of table tennis and foosball!

Our client came to us with the idea of renovating some of the rooms for their three growing children, twin boys and a girl, in this apartment on Riverside Drive with breath-taking views of the Hudson River. The original bedrooms were crowded with built-in pieces and the boys used to share one room. As their needs are changing as they grow, our clients wanted to renovate their childish bedrooms and give them new bedrooms for each one of them that would still feel ‘updated’ and ‘grown up’ for many more years to come. A previously room used as a Den, was transformed into a bedroom for one of the boys, while the other one kept the original bedroom. Both spaces have similar materials and fabrics, but each has a color scheme that was developed from the kids’ favorite colors, the built-in desk, shelving and platform bed in dark mahogany gives the rooms a more masculine and grown up feel. The girl’s room was a very small and odd space with angled walls; to make the room more square and symmetrical, a new desk with shelves, built-in closet, night-stand and platform bed were installed around the perimeter of the room. This layout allowed for additional space for a reading chair, floor lamp and side table. The color palette for this bedroom was also based on the girl’s favorite colors: purple and green, which were wisely used over a background of cream color used throughout the cabinetry and carpet to avoid feeling overwhelming in the small space. Most of the vertical surfaces in all three rooms were covered in a tackable material so they could display posters and school work, yet the textile wall covering gives the walls a very elegant feel when the posters come off.

Thse clients came to me for a kitchen refresh. Keeping the existing floor plan but updating as much as possible. After explaining my thoughts, they chose to go with a much larger project. The wall to the garage wash pushed bach 12" to allow for the island to happen. This almost couldn't happen as there is a support post in the garage we had to keep. I designed the last pantry area as on 10" deep, allowing us to conceal that behind the cabinets. Then, we opend up the wall to the dining room to make the rooms one large space. The wall to the family room was also openend up, leaving the half wall to allow for the kitchen eating area. They wanted to incorporate a bar area, without it feeling like a "bar" The fabulous tall custom unit houses their wine collection and then half of the dining room buffet area holds glassware and other bar items. I helped the clients with all of the design choices.We all wanted to keep the space classic, war, functional and with mixed materials. I chose to use the same countertop material for the backsplash, to keep the space feeling as large as possible.

Michael K. Wilkinson Though the footprint of the hall bath did not change, we did gut the entire room. The client had the idea of a classic black and white look for this bathroom. The designer added add interest with a thin black border on the white tile chair rail. The same thin border was also used on the floor to create a basket weave tile inset. A strip of Absolute Black granite tops off the white knee wall that separates the tub and toilet. Relocating plumbing is always a challenge in existing apartments. That is why we try to work with existing stacks and pipes. In this case, the new tub filler faucet was relocated 12-inches from the existing location and placed on the knee wall. To accommodate the small footprint of the bathroom we used a 24-inch pedestal sink, round (not elongated) toilet and tub that is 4-feet 6-inches long (rather than a 5-foot standard tub. However, the new tub is 32-inches wide (the old one was narrower) which is more convenient for a shower tub. A frosted glass panel was placed on the knee wall to give the owners privacy while taking a shower—as you can see the window is across from the tub. A new showerhead was reinstalled in place of the existing one. We used a special rod with a cap–in addition to its use as a curtain rod, it also acts as a support for the glass panel.

This powder room is decorated in unusual dark colors that evoke a feeling of comfort and warmth. Despite the abundance of dark surfaces, the room does not seem dull and cramped thanks to the large window, stylish mirror, and sparkling tile surfaces that perfectly reflect the rays of daylight. Full renovation for this Primary Bathroom. Re-worked the floor plan to create a larger walk-in shower space with custom glass enclosure. Designed a custom wooden vanity with plenty of storage, with a subtly veined quartz countertop. Free standing bathtub is surrounded by a half wall of paneling, painted in a light and bright color scheme. Neutral tile installed on bathroom floor and shower walls, with a coordinating penny tile on the shower floor and niches. Textured bamboo roman shades and floating shelves were installed for contrast and mixed and matched black and gold hardware for detail.

Inspiration for a small contemporary mirror tile powder room remodel in New Orleans with a wall-mount sink and white walls

The original ranch style home was built in 1962 by the homeowner’s father. She grew up in this home; now her and her husband are only the second owners of the home. The existing foundation and a few exterior walls were retained with approximately 800 square feet added to the footprint along with a single garage to the existing two-car garage. The footprint of the home is almost the same with every room expanded. All the rooms are in their original locations; the kitchen window is in the same spot just bigger as well. The homeowners wanted a more open, updated craftsman feel to this ranch style childhood home. The once 8-foot ceilings were made into 9-foot ceilings with a vaulted common area. The kitchen was opened up and there is now a gorgeous 5 foot by 9 and a half foot Cambria Brittanicca slab quartz island.
