Bathroom - coastal bathroom idea in Los Angeles

A gorgeous mix of traditional and contemporary style in this Toronto home! We were able to pair old furnishings with new, neutral tones with vibrant ones, and wall decor with exciting new artwork! Since we have worked with these clients before, we knew their design style to the T. The couple was moving from the suburbs to the city, so we wanted to take their usual style (which errs more on the traditional side) and throw in some exciting and bold new elements — new chapter, new look! The design turned out light and airy which is balanced by the vibrant color accents, large artwork, wall coverings, and, one of our favorite pieces, a glamorous puzzle table! The homeowners wanted to take advantage of induction cooking, but were hesitant because of their unfamiliarity. I suggested reducing their cooktop from 36” to 30” and adding a 15” gas cooktop. How to subtly incorporate pops of color in your living room: Decide which color or colors you want to bring into your living room. Try to keep it under three. Any more can make your room appear too busy to the eye. If you're going for subtle or are hesitant to bring in color, we recommend beginning with pillows and throw blankets. From here, you can supplement with artwork and area rugs to tie the look together. If you want to be a little more bold, try incorporating the color into your furniture pieces. You're less likely to trade these items out often, so make sure to choose pieces you LOVE that pair well with your more neutral furniture.

Before renovating, this bright and airy family kitchen was small, cramped and dark. The dining room was being used for spillover storage, and there was hardly room for two cooks in the kitchen. By knocking out the wall separating the two rooms, we created a large kitchen space with plenty of storage, space for cooking and baking, and a gathering table for kids and family friends. The dark navy blue cabinets set apart the area for baking, with a deep, bright counter for cooling racks, a tiled niche for the mixer, and pantries dedicated to baking supplies. The space next to the beverage center was used to create a beautiful eat-in dining area with an over-sized pendant and provided a stunning focal point visible from the front entry. There’s something about apron-front sinks that hearkens back to a simpler era. These Utilitarian fixtures reflect a hard-working history as everything from canning workspaces to washbasins for dogs and small children. No wonder they remain an iconic element in traditional-style kitchens.
