A dividing panel was included in the pull-out pantry, providing a place to hang brooms or dust trays. The top drawer below the counter houses a convenient hide-away ironing board. The original window was enlarged so it could be centered and allow great natural light into the room. The finished laundry room is a huge upgrade for the clients and they could not be happier! They now have plenty of storage space and counter space for improved organization and efficiency. Not only is the layout more functional, but the bright paint color, glamorous chandelier, elegant counter tops, show-stopping backsplash and sleek stainless-steel appliances make for a truly beautiful laundry room they can be proud of! This backyard was a design challenge due to the triangular shape of the landscape, so we came up with a diagonal solution. The homeowners requested shade in the pool for hot days, so we created an architectural trellis. Through this the trellis became the centerpiece and backdrop to the design. The jewel of the backyard design is a spa that appears to be vanishing due to the granite. This relaxing feature can be viewed from the master bathroom every time they glance out. When they begin their day, they can look out to see a beautiful reflecting mirror right outside.

Chicagoland Home Products continually exceeds customer expectations by delivering the best storage solutions, so, it is not shocking to find them helping a client in Glen Ellyn surprise his wife with a custom built-in project. CHP’s customer wanted to surprise his wife with a special entertainment center. It needed to house books and receivers on the upper sections. Eight shelves provided exactly what he, and, maybe, more importantly, she was looking for. Below the shelves, storage cabinets provide room to hide all the things that would create clutter. A perfect surface, with conveniently placed hook ups, set the scene for entertainment. Below the platform for television or other devices, more cabinets wait to do what Chicagoland Home Products does best, provide space for organization and storage. All this would be helpful even if it didn’t look good but, CHP always makes sure their projects look great. This was no exception, with the white shaker fronts, crown and base molding, and round polished chrome knobs. Top it off with white panel backing and the customization of this entertainment center is complete. Keep in mind that, if you don’t like shaker or white or polished chrome knobs, CHP will provide what you prefer. Your project doesn’t have to be a surprise. CHP, you, your child, a significant other can all collaborate on your storage, window treatment and closet solutions.

This luxurious master bathroom is a good mix between traditional and transitional, a perfect representation of the homeowners. They wanted our honest advice and opinions, as this is not their strong suite, so we put our designers to work. They wanted an updated master bathroom with a timeless, yet not too trendy look, but still flow into the style of their existing home. We kept the layout of the bathroom the same but removed all finishes and started with a clean slate. We installed a beautiful freestanding pedestal tub which is surrounded by Arabescato Carrara honed marble walls and flooring. The shower floor and accent also has the Arabescato Carrara but in a herringbone pattern which adds nice detail work. The clients like everything to have a place and wanted easy storage solutions out of sight, so the bathroom looks clean. To accomplish this, two shower niches were placed above the built in bench to hide the shampoo bottles, as well as one at the end of the bathtub. Speakman Anystream brushed nickel shower head and Rohl Verona Satin Nickel hand shower, trim and grab bar were installed in the shower, as well as a fogless shower mirror, so the client can shave while he’s in the shower. All new recessed panel soft close cabinets were installed and we added a seated make-up area to her vanity. Three beautiful antiqued silver leaf vanity mirrors were installed bringing out the traditional touch to this bathroom. Each mirror was flanked with Thomas O’Brien Bryant vanity sconces. And to top it all off, the simple Oona 6-light pendant hung from the barrel vaulted ceiling painted in deep purple adding a unique touch to this beautiful classic bathroom. Faced with the challenge of limited wall space, this primary bedroom had only one prospect for bed placement. Adjacent walls consist of a parade of windows paralleling a working fireplace. To achieve the cozy oasis desired, the walls were hand-painted with a horizontal brushstroke to cleverly resemble grass cloth. A custom-built headboard upholstered in a cut velvet fabric is a soft backdrop for the hydrangea-printed pillows. Brass swing-arm wall sconces free-up space on the petite bedside tables. A chenille covered settee nestles the foot of the bed and is flanked by a pair of turned-wood arm chairs. The ottoman wrapped in zebra print, hair-on-hide upholstery delivers a smidgeon of whimsy. The quaint retreat offers an elevated boutique-hotel ambiance at day's end for the happy homeowners.

THEME The overall theme for this space is a functional, family friendly escape where time spent together or alone is comfortable and exciting. The integration of the work space, clubhouse and family entertainment area creates an environment that brings the whole family together in projects, recreation and relaxation. Each element works harmoniously together blending the creative and functional into the perfect family escape. FOCUS The two-story clubhouse is the focal point of the large space and physically separates but blends the two distinct rooms. The clubhouse has an upper level loft overlooking the main room and a lower enclosed space with windows looking out into the playroom and work room. There was a financial focus for this creative space and the use of many Ikea products helped to keep the fabrication and build costs within budget. STORAGE Storage is abundant for this family on the walls, in the cabinets and even in the floor. The massive built in cabinets are home to the television and gaming consoles and the custom designed peg walls create additional shelving that can be continually transformed to accommodate new or shifting passions. The raised floor is the base for the clubhouse and fort but when pulled up, the flush mounted floor pieces reveal large open storage perfect for toys to be brushed into hiding. GROWTH The entire space is designed to be fun and you never outgrow fun. The clubhouse and loft will be a focus for these boys for years and the media area will draw the family to this space whether they are watching their favorite animated movie or newest adventure series. The adjoining workroom provides the perfect arts and crafts area with moving storage table and will be well suited for homework and science fair projects. SAFETY The desire to climb, jump, run, and swing is encouraged in this great space and the attention to detail ensures that they will be safe. From the strong cargo netting enclosing the upper level of the clubhouse to the added care taken with the lumber to ensure a soft clean feel without splintering and the extra wide borders in the flush mounted floor storage, this space is designed to provide this family with a fun and safe space.
