A split level home with brick and wood siding, painted and remodelled. A new roof was added over the front door area, creating a focal point. The body of the home is Benjamin Moore Ballet White, the trim is Benjamin Moore Willow and the front door was Sherwin Williams Determined Orange. Slight mid century details.

This house is set on a sunny natural plateau, sheltered from the wind and enjoys magnificent views of Sutton Mounts and Echo. The layout of the house integrates harmoniously with the surrounding forest, opening to nature through large expanses of glass and terraces that connect the living spaces to the forest. A long roof shelters the house, its deep eaves acting as a sunshade and defining protected outside spaces. The wide south and east terraces, close to ground level, bring the house into contact with its site and enjoy lots of sunshine. A screen porch is strategically located to avoid blocking the primary views and provides access to the forest. The project required that the new construction be at a higher floor level than that of the existing construction as the flood level had been revised after a great flood from overflow of the adjacent Mississippi River into the oxbow lake. The supporting columns at the demarcation of the living and dining offered a visual opportunity to create a continuation of the hall when approaching the stairs from the hall.
