This modern farmhouse kitchen features a beautiful combination of Navy Blue painted and gray stained Hickory cabinets that’s sure to be an eye-catcher. This small third bedroom in a 1950's North Vancouver home originally housed our growing interior design business. When we outgrew this 80 square foot space and moved to a studio across the street, I wondered what would become of this room with its lovely ocean view. As it turns out it evolved into a shared creative space for myself and my very artistic 7 year old daughter. In the spirit of Virginia Wolfe's "A Room of One's Own" this is a creative space where we are surrounded by some of our favourite things including vintage collectibles & furniture, artwork and craft projects, not to mention my all time favourite Cole and Son wallpaper. HERE’S WHAT WE NEED: Shelf cube without rear wall, pencil, wall paint in pastel colours, paint roller, tesa® Masking Tape PREMIUM CLASSIC 30 mm AND THIS IS HOW IT’S DONE: › Stand or hang the shelf cube where you want it. Trace the inside space of the cube shelf on the wall with the pencil. Remove the shelf. › Mask the pencilled area on the wall with tesa® Masking Tape PREMIUM CLASSIC 30 mm. › Use the paint roller to paint the area on the wall. › Peel off the masking tape and place or hang the cube shelf in front of the painted area. This home office was created from an outbuilding on the property. Seagrass wall-to-wall carpet was installed for ultimate durability and a relaxed vibe. We employed a high-low aesthetic to create a space that was unique but still within budget, utilizing the owner's Stickley desk, a custom desk chair, custom blush Roman shades, a Hudson Valley Fenwater chandelier and sconces, and multiple office items from budget sources like IKEA and The Container Store.
