This roof deck features a fully functioning gourmet kitchen, Island Stone wall tile reminiscent of traditional Hawaiian lava rock and elevated, weathered Ipe wood platforms. Remote-controlled louvered sun shades provide relief from the sun, while at night a fire pit provides warmth. Photos by Mariko Reed. Design by VIF Studio.

This interior project was for a remodel of a Honolulu home and living room that was outdated and included a (not cool) sofa from the 80's. We rehabbed the interior with a fresh take on a mid-century modern coastal, with the addition of a plush blue sectional sofa, slate gray club chairs, cushy accent pillows, and a coral base lamp. Furniture selection included West Elm, and accents from readily available suppliers. The final result is a clean, calming area the client was proud to showcase to her family for parties and entertaining.

This Sapele mahogany kitchen is cleverly positioned to take advantage of the gorgeous views of the East Oahu coastline. Shaker cabinet doors provide a warmth that is offset by the natural blues and cool tones of the flooring and walls. The kitchen is very warm and inviting, with ample countertop space for food prep and an adjacent bar height seating for entertaining guests or quick meals on the go.
