Inspiration for a large coastal rooftop deck remodel in Miami with no cover

The exterior stairs are lined on both sides with black cable railing, creating a continuous and secure path between levels. The horizontal cables keep the staircase feeling open and light, while delivering the strength and stability required for elevated outdoor access.

This Longboat Key staircase was completely transformed with a custom cable railing system fabricated and installed by APG Welding. The original staircase featured traditional wood balusters that limited the open feel of the home. This urban home in New York achieves an open feel with several flights of floating stairs accompanied by cable railing. The surface mount posts were manufactured from Aluminum and finished with our popular black powder coat. The system is topped off with our 6000 mission-style handrail. The floating stairs are accented by 3 1/2″ treads made from White Oak. Altogether, the system further’s the home’s contemporary design.
