Cooking and entertaining the family is of the utmost importance to this married couple. Hidden in the back left corner is a functioning pantry with additional refrigeration, sink, dishwasher and plenty of storage to hide away the messes while entertaining. The floors are a varied width, rift and quarter sawn oak, hand scraped with wax finish. Cedarburg, WI

Door style: Pendleton SPW | Species: Quartersawn White Oak | Finish: Autumn with Ebony glaze
The kitchen is designed in a simple, efficient U-shape. Note how the clean lines of the design bring attention to the quality materials used in the flooring, backsplash and counter tops. The expressive grain and distinctive character of the wood is also an important focal point.

This tiny home is located on a treelined street in the Kitsilano neighborhood of Vancouver. We helped our client create a living and dining space with a beach vibe in this small front room that comfortably accommodates their growing family of four. The starting point for the decor was the client's treasured antique chaise (positioned under the large window) and the scheme grew from there. We employed a few important space saving techniques in this room... One is building seating into a corner that doubles as storage, the other is tucking a footstool, which can double as an extra seat, under the custom wood coffee table. The TV is carefully concealed in the custom millwork above the fireplace. Finally, we personalized this space by designing a family gallery wall that combines family photos and shadow boxes of treasured keepsakes. This combination reach-in/wardrobe and built-in credenza, crafted in a rich mid-century color palette, is a stylish solution for the young professional urban dweller that wants a “master closet” but does not have the space for a walk-in.
• “Pass-through” design with reach-in closet on side and cabinets/drawers on the other. Note that the reach-in was designed as a free-standing wardrobe with sliding doors, important for apartment dwellers (that need additional closet space); also both of these pieces illustrate our ability to design and craft
“custom installed furniture.”
• Analogous color palette of Lago Roman Walnut and oil-rubbed bronze, accentuated by the contrast of textures (the Lago material vs. reflective glass on the doors vs. deep textured drawer fronts) is elevated and contemporary.
• Galley-style top lighting and slab front door, contribute to the gender-neutral, architectural feel.

This original room with a large rectangular island in the center evokes a feeling of freedom, tranquility, independence, and spaciousness. The room contains only the most important furniture, including a few cabinets, countertops, and an undermount sink.
Note the pleasant pink color provided by several elegant pendant lights and numerous small elegant ceiling lights. Large windows and contemporary air conditioning system fill the room with fresh and clean air.

Trendmark Inc. AFTER - Gold STAR Award Best Whole House. From blah to beautiful, this kitchen’s transformation not only updated the look but rearranged the way the room functioned. After living in the house for almost 15 years the homeowners knew it was time to invest in the most important room in thier house. The large boxed in florescent light, chopped up counter spaces, and white melamine cabinets just had to go!
The large pantry closet took up lots of space in the kitchen, but the did not offer organized storage. It was nearly impossible to find what you were looking for as items were buried in the back of the closet. By removing this closet and replacing it with a pantry cabinet with full extension roll outs, not only was the floor space increased but so was the usable storage area. The refrigerator was also relocated to
the opposite wall to increase countertop space as well as improve function.
Trendmark Inc Contractor Note:
The creamy glazed alderwood cabinets have raised panel doors and drawer fronts, and feature extras like an arched raised panel range hood that brings style and elegance to the room. The creams and ivories of the room are complemented by the tan and ivory Juperana Santa Cecilia granite countertops and by the bronze hardware and pendant lighting.
The large island provides storage, a prep and clean-up area with an undermounted sink, and an area for family eating or for entertaining service. A focal point in the room is the decorative travertine tile picture frame over the professional grade range. Stainless steel appliances and warm wood flooring complete the look and spread into the eating area and the family room beyond. This room has certainly banished the blahs and become elegant as well as more useful.
Homeowner Score - 100
Perfect score from homeowner. “The TrendMark team was outstanding. Their creativity and ability to visualize the project made it turn out better than expected. The team always was very professional, on-time, courteous, easy to work with, and did incredible work! I’d recommend TrendMark to anyone. TrendMark is unique in that the crew are employee of TrendMark and you know who to expect for the duration of the project. I was comfortable having them in our home at anytime. Not having a string of subs come through made it a very positive experience.
Their attention to detail was amazing. Before I could point out any issue the team was already working on them. Overall, remodeling a kitchen, down to the sheetrock and more and 3.5 baths could be a very painful experience, but this was not the case. It was a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. We love our new home!

An “African Gold” slate floor (from Crossville Studios, notes interior designer Kathryn Greeley) sets the scheme on the covered porch, seconding the mountain bedrock under and around the home. A trussed ceiling and stone hearth are the more rugged details, but the slim cable-rail deck keeps things sleek, and motorized screens bring a tech element. A five-panel folding door (supplied by Nanawall) separates this important outdoor living space from the interior great room.

The beautiful quartzite countertops and Japanese linear tile mimic the deep greens in the surrounding foliage. 36" wide grill and storage provide plenty of cooking and staging space.
The mobile island, with it's cantilevered countertop, is perfectly stable despite the 225 pound countertop slab. This was achieved with a ballast inside the box combined with the industrial casters that allow the wheels to be pumped up off the deck, providing solid footing for the island.
With over 5 square feet of grill surface and a grilling shelf. a full meal can be prepared at one time, ensuring that the cook can spend time with her guests and everyone can sit down and eat together.
The dimmable recessed lighting and sconces provide illumination throughout the year that can be tuned to the mood of the party.

Down-to-studs remodel and second floor addition. The original house was a simple plain ranch house with a layout that didn’t function well for the family. We changed the house to a contemporary Mediterranean with an eclectic mix of details. Space was limited by City Planning requirements so an important aspect of the design was to optimize every bit of space, both inside and outside. The living space extends out to functional places in the back and front yards: a private shaded back yard and a sunny seating area in the front yard off the kitchen where neighbors can easily mingle with the family. A Japanese bath off the master bedroom upstairs overlooks a private roof deck which is screened from neighbors’ views by a trellis with plants growing from planter boxes and with lanterns hanging from a trellis above.
