The front elevation of this home got a makeover with new Marvin Windows and Doors. Originally the home had a single front door with two sidelights. The entire assembly was removed and we installed a Marvin double front door. Going from a builder grade, single door to the Marvin Elevate Swinging French Doors really set this house apart, creating an elegant front entry. A bronze exterior clad was chosen, while the interior wood was stained to match the home’s original trim color.
Two twin casement windows and one single casement window were removed. These were replaced with Marvin Ultimate Casement windows. These Marvin Signature Series windows have an extruded aluminum exterior, and a rich wood interior. Like the front doors, all the new windows were stained to match the existing trim.
The doors and windows were all stained prior to installation. This kept installation time to a minimum, inconveniencing the homeowners as little as possible.
All the windows open quickly and easily with a crank out operation. The windows offer a contemporary option with a flush exterior and narrow jamb.
These windows have a sleek design and narrow jamb which makes them ideal for replacement applications, minimizing the tear-down of existing frames and walls. Their unique wash mode allows access to both sides of glass from inside the home.
The doors and windows have the Marvin Simulated Divided Lite (SDL) grill design which is an energy-efficient way to create the look of authentic divided lites. SDL bars are permanently adhered to both sides of the glass. They are available with or without a spacer bar installed between the glass to create even more depth.
Beyond a fresh, new look these Marvin Windows and Doors have increased the value of this home, and made it more energy efficient. If you are considering replacing windows or doors in your home, contact us today.

The structure can grow horizontally and vertically by adding new cores in different directions per each site condition. It creates public plazas shaded and shielded by the building as it grows. Fully self-sufficient structure houses flexible 3D printed dwellings and workspaces surrounded by semi-open garden spaces and atrium. Thirty feet deep floor plates receive daylight from the exterior and atrium and can conveniently be used as open-plan office space. Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems are distributed through modular floor plates, on which 3D printed modules are flexibly plugged in. 3D printed inflatable shells with indoor air cleaning plants house a plug-in kitchen, bedroom, workspace, and bathroom modules. This outstanding residential project showcases the complete transformation of a detached family home into a contemporary luxury residence, delivered by JK Design & Build.
Following the demolition of the original property, only the front façade was retained, allowing us to preserve the character of the home while completely rebuilding it from the ground up. The result is a beautifully designed three-storey family residence that combines modern architecture, exceptional craftsmanship, and luxury living.
The project included the construction of new side and rear extensions, a first-floor extension, and a spacious loft conversion, significantly increasing both the living space and the property's value.
Every aspect of the home was carefully considered, from the structural engineering and bespoke joinery to the premium interior finishes. Luxury features include a bespoke designer kitchen, elegant bathrooms, engineered oak flooring, designer lighting, a private cinema room with a bespoke bar, a fully equipped gym, a billiards room, a home office, and two guest suites within the newly created loft.
The home also benefits from modern building technologies, including underfloor heating throughout the ground and first floors, air conditioning, an energy-efficient heat pump, and high-performance insulation to maximise comfort and energy efficiency.
Externally, the property was transformed with professionally designed landscaping, a new driveway, and an elegant outdoor entertaining area featuring a bespoke BBQ terrace with integrated heating.
This project reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional quality, innovative construction solutions, and fully managed luxury residential projects across London.

Post Completion of newly installed bronze exterior vinyl replacement windows from our Mezzo Collection.

We were given the challenge of designing a house overlooking a pond on a site constrained by wetlands. Our client had an interest in permanence and solidity and a desire to work with architectural concrete. Additionally, the client desired interiors that would showcase their substantial art collection. Our design approach began with the footprint of an L-shaped courtyard house, which in part, was determined by the limited buildable area. The house is sited on a natural rise in the land, allowing the first floor elevation to rise 15 ft above the pond’s surface; this height provides dynamic views through the trees that separate the house from the pond. Ultimately, our design leverages the inherent capabilities of architectural concrete i.e. its structural capacity; the material allows for bold cantilevers and expanses of glass, creating greater transparency between interior and exterior environments.
The interior palette is comprised of rift sawn oak with 16-inch wide oak plank flooring, oak casework and millwork, a stainless steel and glass main staircase, and minimalist concrete details throughout. On the upper level, the plan accommodates a master bedroom suite, three children’s bedrooms, and a family room. The first floor includes a guest bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, office, and family room. The ground level has a recreational room, a mudroom, and office/studio. The site plan employs native plantings and includes a small resistance pool in the courtyard.
Concrete will be utilized for all of the house’s structural and insulation components. This method modulates the fluctuation of interior temperature, creating both an energy-efficient envelope and enough concrete mass to keep temperatures moderate and consistent throughout a 24-hour day. The employment of triple-glazed windows and a triple-glazed aluminum curtain wall further increases the project’s energy efficiency and allows the house to have abundant glass. Natural light permeates the interior and affords spectacular view in all directions of both Todd Pond and the neighboring woodlands.

To ensure peak performance, the Boise Passive House utilized triple-pane glazing with the A5 aluminum window, Air-Lux Sliding door, and A7 swing door. Each product brings dynamic efficiency, further affirming an air-tight building envelope. The increased air-seals, larger thermal breaks, argon-filled glazing, and low-E glass, may be standard features for the Glo Series but they provide exceptional performance just the same. Furthermore, the low iron glass and slim frame profiles provide clarity and increased views prioritizing overall aesthetics despite their notable efficiency values.

For a small family in the Boston suburbs, their modest sized home was just the right size. But with some smart changes, they wondered if it could be more enjoyable. Working with architect Joseph S. Artley, we came up with a number of solutions:
• To make the kitchen a more comfortable work and gathering space, a bay window was removed and the kitchen itself bumped out slightly to allow for the introduction of an expansive island, as well as additional countertop and cabinetry.
• The first floor half-bathroom was relocated to the end of the entry hall. This allowed us to connect the kitchen with what had been a three-season porch.
• That three-season porch was properly heated and remodeled as a sunny breakfast nook: the perfect spot for the family to gather in the mornings.
• Near the entry to the breakfast nook, an existing electrical box could not be moved. To conceal it, we suggested an oversized family bulletin board, which we provided as a gift to the homeowners. Now, it offers a great spot to catch up on the day’s activities and enjoy some family artwork while heading in for breakfast.
• This family loves to read and they asked for custom built in bookshelves in the living room that would look original to the home and match existing shelving on the other side of the room.
• The den is a favorite spot for the family to watch movies and play games, but the room, which had also been a three season porch prior to an earlier renovation, was drafty in the winter and hot in the summer. We introduced new, energy efficient windows and insulation throughout, resulting in a much more inviting and cozy room.
Today, after barely increasing the footprint of the home, the family has a new breakfast room, a usable den, a larger and more inviting kitchen, and a better-situated first-floor bath. Lots of simple fixes = a much happier space for the whole family.

Remodeling often offers great opportunities for efficiency improvements. When the owners of this house decided to remove the existing aluminum siding, we proposed new rigid insulation under the new siding to greatly increase thermal efficiency and comfort. This along with effective air sealing and a ground source (geothermal) system for heating and cooling allowed the house to meet the new Energy Star standards. Concurrently, the new addition provided the much needed home office and bedroom space on the 2nd floor.
