This project in Wilmette was a wonderful chance to showcase our products. Our customer was renovating her mid-century modern home and wanted to bring the interior up to date. With a clean and sleek interior, we collectively decided on our custom Herringbone door model. This door model is completely flush, with two diagonal grain directions. The rich Walnut finish pops against the clean white walls and existing décor. This door line can be modified and customized to any dimension and configuration necessary. Traditional swing doors are the main style seen throughout the home, with the exception of a couple pocket doors, double doors and even a bifold door unit.

Designing a home that truly embodies indoor-outdoor living requires a thoughtful approach, and this project was no exception.
From the start, the focus was on flow—how each space functioned individually and as part of the greater whole. The heart of the home, the kitchen and living area, was designed to maximize natural light and openness, creating a welcoming space for both daily life and entertaining. A soothing palette of warm neutrals, layered textures, and deep blue accents brought a refined yet relaxed feel, striking the perfect balance between sophistication and comfort.
The seamless transition to the outdoor living areas was key, with an expansive patio, various seating areas, and a covered space for year-round enjoyment. Every detail, from tile selections to lighting, was carefully curated to reflect a timeless coastal aesthetic.
The result? A home that feels as good as it looks—warm, inviting, and perfectly in sync with the way our clients live.

This project started small, with the clients’ desire to remodel the existing kitchen. When our analysis of the existing conditions revealed the extent to which the house’s many previous additions had failed to enrich each other or unify the whole, the scope of work bloomed to include extensive renovations throughout the first floor. We’ve sought to bring a cohesion and clarity to this already commodious house quite beautifully sited.
Much of the design attention in this project was focused on meetings and overlaps. The autonomy and dignity of individual spaces was restored with the creation and use of interstitial spaces; the spaces between. The doorway between kitchen and dining becomes a display pantry and wet bar, the entry foyer is framed with a narrower opening, and the way to the Living Room is re-shaped with a paneled deep jamb.
The story is recounted in the January / February 2013 edition of New England Home.

This gut rehab was truly a cinderella story. This family wanted to convert a 3 flat into a beautiful urban single family home. After gutting the whole place down to it’s bare studs, we started with a blank canvas; creating a new floor plan to the specific needs of this family’s lifestyle and tastes. The first floor was kept open and airy by using unique ceiling accents as a way to define one room from another. Using different shapes in individual tray ceilings to define the kitchen from the dining room and living room, the family could still feel the difference of one room from another without the disconnected nature which walls tend to create. The second floor housed a master suite, a nursery, and the kid's bedroom and bathroom. Within the basement, we created quite a homey floor plan; complete with a guest bedroom, bathroom, wet bar, and a spacious living area. All in all, this family truly created their dream luxury home from the ground up and we were happy to assist in building their fairytale ending.

The en-suite bathroom of a house construction by Bangkok Builder at Lakewood Golf Club, Samut Prakan, Thailand.
Bangkok Builder finished the construction of a luxury house, for a client at Lakewood Golf Club, Bangkok. The house was built with 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, living room/dining room, modern luxury kitchen, office/library, storage room, laundry room, maids accommodation, Thai kitchen and carport for 3 cars. The master bedroom suite had a glass shower cubicle, with three types of showers, with a wall in a natural stone finish. There was also an external outside rain shower. Once it was all completed, as the chosen house builder, we then started the construction of the house. The home used some natural stone, sand stone and German standard wooden flooring. It had a main swimming pool and child’s pool, separated by a bridge, which went over to the Sala. There was also an individual heated Jacuzzi. Our smart home systems expert installed automated lighting systems, automatic remote control gates and various smart home systems for the client.

This one bedroom apartment is located in a converted loft building in the Flatiron District of Manhattan overlooking Madison Square, the start of Madison Avenue and the Empire State Building. The project involved a gut renovation interior fit-out including the replacement of the windows.
In order to maximize natural light and open up views from the apartment, the layout is divided into three "layers" from enclosed to semi-open to open. The bedroom is set back as far as possible within the central layer so that the living room can occupy the entire width of the window wall. The bedroom was designed to be a flexible space that can be completely open to the living room and kitchen during the day, creating one large space, but enclosed at night. This is achieved with sliding and folding glass doors on two sides of the bedroom that can be partially or completely opened as required.
The open plan kitchen is focused on a long island that acts as a food preparation area, workspace and can be extended to create a dining table projecting into the living room. The bathroom acts as a counterpoint to the light, open plan design of the rest of the apartment, with a sense of luxury provided by the finishes, the generous shower and bath and three separate lighting systems that can be used together or individually to define the mood of the space.
The materials throughout the apartment are a simple palette of glass, metal, stone and wood.
