Jules Moore’s reimagined Pueblo-style home in Santa Fe brings in light from the surrounding desert and features eclectic décor from her travels around the world. The New Zealand-native immediately loved where the house was situated – perched on a canyon’s edge – when she initially saw the home. The house required a lot of work: it had been uninhabited for 10 years, and its small windows did little to brighten the space and emphasize the natural landscape. Marvin’s Ultimate collection offered the level of customization Moore needed for her exact vision of the home. Moore also installed the Marvin Skycove in the home’s primary suite. The Skycove created the perfect space for Moore to enjoy watching the sunset and a cozy space for her French bulldog Sake to indulge in generous sunlight. “Marvin was the only team that presented to me different options that were going to work for this home,” said Moore. “I wanted the picture windows, but I needed the classic element to match the colonial wood. To blend the grey, white and beige of the marble tiles, we chose a soft shimmering taupe grass cloth with a silver background from York. Next stop, soften the room with textiles: A beautiful wool and silk runner combines the tile colors and add my favorite color…Blue. Varying shades of blue, taupe and grey with stunning black accents add color and texture to the coolness of the marble. Slip off your shoes and see h ow good it feels on your feet. The windows have a simple Couture fabric valance trimmed with Mercury glass beads which sparkle in the sunlight. Crystal vases sit on custom faux finished pedestals which hold candles for a subtle ambience. A dark blue console holds towels and decorative accents. A luxurious brass accented bench invites you to sit and relax while filling the oversized tub, a true indulgence. On to the lighting: The fabulous shimmering pendant light is literally the crowning jewel of the space. Crystal beads and soft brass accents shimmer and shine when you turn on the lights. Silk painted shades adorn the sconces while a coordinating fixture lights the entry way. The final touches; the art. An oversized contemporary Giclée Tennessee Morning is like looking out a window onto a field of flowers with a perfect blue sky. Original photo art from Alyssa Peek Ditch Plans and Changing Seasons is an homage to my favorite place the beach. Above the blue console, 6 small silk screen on glass pieces titled People Watching are grouped together. Artist Cathy Coricone’s acrylic paintings complete the art in the room. Her original pieces Moon Drops, Warm Pool and Cool Pool provide a sense of serenity with soft soothing colors and brush strokes.

This 1980 split-level home had great bones, but the owners wanted to update the finishes and create a more family-friendly layout. We bumped out the front entry of the house by a couple of feet to allow more room to welcome guests and to take off shoes and coats. Replacing the banister and partial-height walls at the top of the stairs with steel and wood fixtures presents a more modern aesthetic that also allows more light to stream in. The formerly closed-off kitchen was opened up and updated to create a "Great Room," with a generous kitchen where the owner can comfortably indulge her passion for baking. The rest of the main floor was reconfigured to add functionality and space to the two kids’ bedrooms, improve the guest bathroom, and create a spacious master suite with a luxe master bathroom that features a walk-in shower, soaking tub, and separate toilet room. In the basement, the finishes were updated, and the floor plan was opened up to create a roomy space where the parents can relax and watch movies while keeping an eye on the children in their own play space.
