This kitchen was transformed from a dark, inefficient space into a bright welcoming area full of countertop space and storage. Accented with brass fixtures, lighting and hardware this transitional meets modern farmhouse kitchen space now offers this family lots of new amenities such as a 4-seat island, coffee/entertaining bar area as well as tons of storage. Recessed lights, undercabinet lights as well as pendants make this space so bright!

These homeowners wanted to work with a designer to make their inefficient kitchen into a dark and chic space that would match the rest of their newly remodeled home. They had a clear vision of style and theme and believed they wanted all black painted cabinets with white quartz countertops, gold toned hardware, an island and more functional cabinet space. As we moved through the design process, they fell in love with the warmth and richness of Ebony stained maple doors and were delighted at how the Acacia Haze island and Palisa Tile in Fern softened the feel of the space. We designed the concept for their wine racks, dry bar, and custom floating shelves to make the giant window more purposeful which tied the two rooms together. Then we redesigned the layout with a Lazy Susan instead of a blind corner cabinet, an upper corner cabinet, spice rack cabinet, sheet pan cabinet and a functional fridge box. The island tied the whole room together with the bookshelf, roll outs, and pull-out trash bin. Nothing sets a mood better than under and above cabinet lighting! We revamped the light fixture placement, and they chose the perfect lights for the island. All their finishing touches make it a showstopper and a truly dark, chic and delightful space to hang out in.

Whether you're aiming for a sleek modern design, a functional workspace, or a charming rustic vibe, finding the right kitchen remodel services is key to turning that dream into reality.
This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about choosing the best kitchen remodel near me. From understanding your specific needs to identifying reliable services, we've got you covered.
Understanding Your Unique Kitchen Remodeling Needs
Before hiring a kitchen remodel service, it’s essential to pinpoint why you're looking to remodel in the first place. Knowing your priorities will help you make informed decisions and ensure you choose a service that aligns with your vision.
1. Functionality Upgrades
Is your kitchen outdated or inefficient? Maybe you're dealing with limited countertop space or outdated appliances that make cooking a hassle. A remodel can help optimize the layout and incorporate modern solutions, such as smart appliances or ergonomic cabinets.
2. Aesthetic Enhancements
Perhaps you’re looking to give your kitchen a fresh, stylish look that reflects your personality. Whether it’s a chic industrial design or a cozy farmhouse style, professional remodelers can help bring your aesthetic dreams to life.
3. Improved Home Value
A beautifully renovated kitchen is one of the top features potential buyers look for. According to real estate experts, a well-designed kitchen remodel can deliver up to a 70%-80% return on investment.
4. Lifestyle Changes
Has your family grown? Do you cook at home more often now? Your kitchen should adapt to these shifts, accommodating more people or making meal prep seamless.
Clearly outlining your specific goals will make it easier to choose home remodeling contractor professionals who can meet (and exceed) your expectations.
Researching for the Best Kitchen Remodel Services Near Me
Once you’ve defined your needs, the next step is to start researching. But how do you pinpoint the best kitchen remodelers in your area? Here are actionable tips:
1. Read Reviews and Testimonials
Start by checking online reviews on platforms like Google, Yelp, and Houzz. Look for consistently positive feedback, with special attention paid to customer comments about quality, communication, and timelines.
2. Check Portfolios
A picture is worth a thousand words—and reading about a remodeling company’s success isn’t enough. Browse their portfolio to ensure the quality of their work aligns with what you’re envisioning.
3. Ask for Recommendations
Word of mouth is still one of the best ways to find trustworthy services. Ask friends, family, or coworkers if they’ve worked with a remodeling service they’d recommend.
4. Look for Professional Credentials
Make sure the companies you’re vetting hold all required licenses, certifications, and insurance. It’s a sign of their professionalism and ensures accountability.
5. Conduct Interviews
Consider meeting with a few top contenders. Ask about their experience, approach to projects similar to yours, and estimated costs. Don’t shy away from asking detailed questions—it’s important to feel confident in your choice.
By thoroughly researching, you'll narrow down your options and find a remodeler who matches your vision, budget, and style.
Key Factors to Consider Before Hiring
Deciding on the right kitchen remodel near me is about more than just skills. Here are some critical factors to weigh before signing any contracts.
1. Set a Clear Budget
It’s important to have a realistic budget in mind before you begin. A reliable remodeler will respect your financial boundaries and offer solutions that maximize your investment without overspending.
2. Outline Your Timeline
Discussing deadlines ensures the project starts and finishes on time. Make sure the remodeler can meet your schedule without compromising quality.
3. Communication is Key
Clear communication is essential. You want experts who listen carefully to your needs, explain their process, and keep you updated throughout the project.
4. Warranties and Guarantees
Always ask if the service provides warranties for craftsmanship and materials. It’s a sign they stand by the quality of their work.

This primary bathroom was transformed from an underused, inefficient space into a luxurious retreat designed for everyday wellness. The homeowners wanted the feeling of a dark, relaxing, moody resort with the function of a private spa. Their favorite features of the new space include the steam shower, dual shower heads, sauna, cold plunge, benches, warm wood details, dramatic tile, and thoughtful lighting. Our design-build team guided the project from design through completed construction, creating a cohesive space that flows beautifully with the bedroom. The result is a high-performing wellness suite that the homeowners now use and enjoy daily.

This bathroom has been transformed by stripping back to the original space ridding of all inefficient built-ins that protruded into the space. Storage has been updated with efficient use of a tall inset medicine cabinet with lighting on either side. Open shelving opposite of the toilet allows for easy access instead of opening and closing a double set of doors. And curated moments for artful elements have allowed the natural daylight to bathe this bath with the coveted airy 'space" we are all seeking...

The clients wanted to update their ranch house and make good use of their unusually large site next to downtown Mountain View. We sketched several options for design and scope of work to assess feasibility and value to the clients.
The chosen design retains an existing bedroom wing, while the layout of the living spaces is re-worked to an open plan flooded with light, with vaulted ceilings and strong indoor-outdoor connection to a yard optimized for outdoor living. Awkward angles and inefficient spaces of the former house have been replaced with a clear, simple floor plan designed for ease of everyday living.
One end of the site is used for a two-bedroom ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) with its own face to the street and its own back yard. Income from the ADU will go a long way toward financing the rebuild of the main house.

Bungalows are lovable homes, but how can they be better? Along with many of our clients, we find that older (early 20th c.) homes have a lot of character and a comfortable scale, but are leaky, damp (especially in the basement), have fair to poor air quality, and use unconscionable amounts of fossil fuels to heat. The owners of this bungalow were ready to change that, and wanted to do so with minimal upfront carbon emissions as well.
The gut renovation included replacing the basement slab and providing capillary breaks and insulation continuously below grade. The brick structure was treated with a fluid-applied air and water barrier from the interior and insulated entirely with cellulose, a carbon-storing insulation. The roof used HFO-blown spray foam to provide sufficient insulation while allowing headroom for bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry.
One great benefit of a full renovation is the possibility of reconfiguring spaces to suit the family’s lifestyle, and to make the best of indoor-outdoor connections. We opened up the main rooms on the first floor, creating a family gathering spot with a view to the back yard, and a spacious kitchen that supports the family’s commitment to cooking for healthy eating. The stair uses a north-facing skylight to bring light from above into the middle of the home, where it was previously dark.
As a decarbonization retrofit, the inefficient furnace was replaced with two small ducted heat pump systems, water heating and clothes drying are powered by air-source heat pumps, and cooking uses an induction cooktop plus electric ovens. Energy recovery ventilation provides filtered fresh air continuous exhaust from the kitchen, baths, and laundry, and supplies fresh, highly filtered air to bedrooms and living spaces.
The Better Bungalow now makes sense for the 21st century–it now fits the owners’ life-patterns, is super comfortable, has great air quality, and uses a fraction of the energy it did before, greatly lowering the demand on the utility grid. In the near future, when solar PV is installed, it can achieve net zero or near net zero emissions, and with battery backup, can provide great resilience in the event of power outages.

What was once a closed-in, dark and inefficient kitchen, this space has been transformed without adding a single square inch. A clever redesign of this kitchen allows this family to entertain and take advantage of a beautiful outdoor patio area and surrounding wooded yard.

My client wanted her kitchen redone / keeping appliances. The layout was awkward and inefficient. I measured the adjacent spaces and got my arms around her family's functional needs and such.
I built 1/2 wall, a 10' kitchen island, a storage closet, a "bar-moire," (armoire turned into a bar), reoriented the dining space, allowed better access and flow to the porch, plus a morning room / family game center with chalkboard and magnetic paint.

JDBG created an expansive and tailored new master bathroom/closet/dressing area by reclaiming wasted space from an inefficient and dated bathroom layout.

The “Before” Laundry Room was an eye sore with a huge inefficient furnace with no storage for laundry/cleaning supplies and pet food. It sadly lacked any counter space for sorting or folding clothes.RoomAntics got a hold of the disjointed space and designed a plan to have the furnace relocated. We also replaced the old furnace with a more efficient model. Our design plan incorporated space from the adjoining garage to create a small utility room so we could enclose the furnace and get it out of the laundry room. Next we tackled the space left behind starting fresh making use of every inch of space.
With fresh white cabinets, graphite appliances, new counters, tile, grey glazed porcelain backsplash and pops of red, we created a welcoming, pretty, and functional space for laundry as well as feeding and corralling the client’s three dogs!

This kitchen was once closed off with two small doors and an odd-shaped peninsula. The cabinetry and tile floor was dated and the arrangement was inefficient.
We moved the wall between the adjoining living room and enlarged the opening, framing it in faux wood beams. Beams were also added to the kitchen. The living area became a large dining room with a custom chandelier and red metal cross back chairs. An 11 foot walnut island can seat 8 and has quartz countertops and a stainless undermount farmhouse apron sink.
Beveled subway tile with grey grout lines the walls and floating rustic shelves flank the modern stainless range hood. Undercabinet lighting and USB outlets give functionality to the desk area. Grey wood and metal swivel bar stools add slim, clean seating.
Rustic wood flooring was added throughout the main level.
