A Craftsman bungalow goes industrial. JZID injected an industrial feel in a classic Milwaukee area Craftsman bungalow by adding concrete counters and headboard, new lighting, paint and furniture.

Always wanting an island for dining and prep, this homeowner decided it was time to remodel the kitchen.
Removing the peninsula made the room more open and airy, and allowed for the island to create a stunning focal point. We saved on budget by refacing the existing cabinets and building a custom island --this allowed room in the budget to upgrade to a marble backsplash--another classic that will remain timeless for decades.
Pulling in some neutrals like whites and greys and then injecting her favorite color blue, the kitchen became an extension of her! Quartz countertops in Torquay and classic shaker-style cabinets make this a coastal classic design. The blue is just the cherry on the cake, or should we say blueberry?

A Modern home that wished for more warmth...
An addition and reconstruction of approx. 750sq. area.
That included new kitchen, office, family room and back patio cover area.
The floors are polished concrete in a dark brown finish to inject additional warmth vs. the standard concrete gray most of us familiar with.
A huge 16' multi sliding door by La Cantina was installed, this door is aluminum clad (wood finish on the interior of the door).
The vaulted ceiling allowed us to incorporate an additional 3 picture windows above the sliding door for more afternoon light to penetrate the space.
Notice the hidden door to the office on the left, the SASS hardware (hidden interior hinges) and the lack of molding around the door makes it almost invisible.

Traditional white wainscoting lines a stairwell, while a coral-banded wool runner injects a tropical note. Scroll-like forms appear in a wrought-iron stair railing, a cross-section of a conch shell embedded in a floor tile.

This impressive cedar shake shingle roof, prized for its beauty and sustainability, is located in Shoreline, Washington. Over time, the old cedar shake shingle roof had deteriorated, birds had begun to peck holes in it, and little critters had started to burrow and build nests in the wood. We removed the old cedar shake shingle roof, recycled it, and installed a premium three-quarter hand split cedar shake shingle roof. It’s a beautiful and environmentally friendly wood that comes with a 50-year CCA-treated warranty. The CCA treatment for longevity means the wood is injected with a treatment that prevents insects from growing into the wood which is a very important step. This treatment step is often omitted much of the time on lower quality wood leading to a very short life span of the cedar shake itself.
Three Tree Roofing uses quality wood that will last a very long time. When we install cedar shake shingles, it’s important to use stainless steel fasteners. The reason we use steel fasteners is that the CCA treatment will eat through all other metal fasteners. We use stainless steel so that doesn’t happen. We have an expert roofing crew that specializes in cedar shake shingle installs. It’s a skill that our highly dedicated crew uses every day. If you have any questions about residential or commercial roofing, feel free to contact us for your new roof or give us a call at 206-312-7663 (ROOF)!

Just wrapped up an incredible kitchen remodel and couldn’t be happier with the results! Under the guidance of our amazing Project Manager, Tony Cicchino, and the talented Designer, Justina Auer, this kitchen looks unrecognizable from the Before pictures. We opted to maintain the existing layout but injected a dash of brilliance with additional cabinetry, elevating both form and function. The decision to remove overhead wall cabinets above the peninsula really started to open up the space, allowing for a more seamless and spacious feel. We also bid adieu to the faux beams to gain a fluid perspective throughout the room. The clever addition of a pantry cabinet and additional storage space on the backside of the peninsula really expanded the storage universe. By lifting the microwave off the counter, we gained valuable extra counter space. The hidden pull-out trash under the counter is a game-changer for convenience. We embraced a clean and timeless palette of simple whites and grays, making the space a perfect canvas for personal touches. This kitchen is now a masterpiece that marries practicality with panache!

tep into a personalized haven with this custom shower featuring a one-of-a-kind tile drain. Grey hexagon tiles create a captivating geometric pattern underfoot, while large-format tiles on the walls add a touch of grandeur. We Feng Shui'ed, designed and restored this glorious great room in a Colonial Revival home on the North Shore of Boston. The original elements were incredible: an inglenook fireplace, huge beams, a giant clock from a train station in Watertown, MA, huge windows, original hardwood floors, and a sliding glass door overlooking the backyard.
We wanted to update and refresh the space, and inject our homeowners' sense of casual fun and color.
A huge oriental rug from Pottery Barn tied the color scheme together, along with leather club chairs and a huge leather Chesterfield sofa.
The family gathers here for games, movies, and general relaxation in front of the fireplace. 1930s ski posters add a travel element, and the huge scale furniture is befitting of so grand a space.

Solution by Waterman Engineers Australia
Waterman Engineers Australia was approached to design and deliver an integrated water treatment system with the capacity to meet the extreme salinity and challenging operational conditions. This solution would involve a multi-layered treatment process:
Ultrafiltration (UF) was the first stage to remove the suspended solids and colloids in order to protect the downstream processes from fouling.
RO was thus used to bring down the TDS considerably and provide a permeate stream suitable for re-use into the field’s operations.
MEEs were installed for the RO concentrate treatment step, further decreasing the volume of brine and recovering more water for re-use.
The system developed by Waterman Engineers Australia led to a significant reduction in scaling and corrosion problems, extended the life expectancy of the field’s infrastructure, and facilitated the re-injection of treated water that results in reduced reliance on freshwater resources.
Waterman Engineers Australia has developed such expertise in high TDS water treatment for oil and gas fields, providing leading-edge solutions to meet the special needs of individual projects. Its leadership in the design and delivery of advanced water treatment systems empowers operators in improving operational efficiency, extending infrastructure life, and meeting sustainability goals.

The client wanted to inject a feminine glamour and soft color in her high ceiling Master bedroom. The exterior of what looks like a vernacular Hamptons shingle cottage, designed by architect Blaze Makoid, is intentionally deceiving. For the interiors, Axis Mundi typically decided not to play by the rules. Instead of de rigeur nautical artifacts, floppy sofas and wicker furniture, the firm responded to Makoid’s all-white interior envelope by injecting rooms with comfortable modern elegance that’s more contemporary Cap Ferrat than Eastern Long Island. Clean furniture silhouettes—from Cassina, Poltrona Frau and B&B Italia—a Massimo Vitali beach scene, a Moooi chandelier and industrial finishes (such as the steel of the fireplace surround and the anodized aluminum of a sleek Bulthaup kitchen) spark a creative tension between indoors and out. The gray palette provides a quiet backdrop for the nature outside, except for the master suite, where custom oak panels and blue shades create a reassuring warmth conducive to sleep.

Our clients fell in love with this expansive modern home and collaborated with us to inject their personalities and add function to meet their lifestyle. Original artwork collected during their travels inspired much of the interior palette, and we looked to vibrant patterned fabrics, bold accents and gorgeous floral wallpapers to boost the personality of the spaces. In the great room, we added color with a bold wool area rug and accent pillows, and the pair of swivel chairs in the window invites leisurely time taking in the sweeping views. The richly textured dining room has its own personality with brick-clad walls and an unapologetically stylish sputnik chandelier.
The primary bedroom is wrapped in soft, modern floral wallpaper that inspired the palette of the bespoke furnishings and luxurious bedding. Rich upholstery and supple leather adorn pieces customized for the space.
The home’s key entertaining space is the ground level bar and lounge which boasts a custom handcrafted wine wall by Sommi Wine Cellars. Furnishings with colorful patterns and unique shapes are everywhere, inviting lively gatherings and conversation.
The hobby room invites the couple to get creative together and serves as a multi-purpose getaway. The guest room repurposed the couple’s existing bedroom furniture and area rug, and we pulled it all together with new artwork, lamps and bedding to create an inviting space for guests.
