The only thing the homeowner insisted on was keeping the oak vanity, we updated it with copper handles, a new counter, backsplash, sink, faucet, mirror and lighting. Our client contacted us to help solve a significant drainage and erosion issue. The use of natural stone was insisted upon. We proposed the use of Oklahoma Blue Stone beams to line the creek because of size, weight, and patina. The stream bed is lined with granite cobble from the Arkansas River in Colorado, The channel walls ans stream bed are reinforced with geosynthetic fabrics for additional strength.

8. Insist on a strong connection between the kitchen and your outdoor space. Our social life is always connected with food. Your garden will be in better use if you can eat in it with ease.

Construction supervision, and working with contractors and the trades, is one of my favorite parts of the job. Here is my sister on one of the monthly meetings. Everyone working went over in the early morning on the ferry and played cards and drank beer on the way home. The clients were happy to forego any involvement in the building process, and they only came up once towards the very end, because I insisted they weigh in on a few things, like paint colors.

Appreciation in Snowfall by Shaw Floors. As trend spotters, the Shaw design team insisted that this elongated ogee pattern was just what we needed to round out our globally inspired Caress patterns collection.

A five foot long shower was used for added resale value, if the new home owner insisted on another bath, the room is always available. A rain head shower is used as well as a hand held unit. Basement flood fixed (and improved) Packing the last of my stuff out after patching the walls, painting, re installing the trim, and (finally, reluctantly) being seduced by the 50 shades of primer-grey colour era that we're all living through. (Thanks to Sandra'a insistence -- and good eye.).. ps / btw: it was completely dark outside when I took this. (The colour's just right -- my old lg camera is a little less so -- the outside bulb's just brighter than the inside bulbs...)

The client wanted a kitchen that was very clean lined and contemporary but insisted it be warm. The simple lines on the cabinets and hardware bring the contemporary and the warm wood materials and brass on the pendants and bring the warmth. Rather than a full-view glass-enclosed shower, my client insisted on a private water closet and step-in shower. It made her the most comfortable and offered privacy. The shower is fully enclosed with a combination of glass mosaic and square tiles.
