This is a vignette designed for an exhibit of THE FLORIDA ROOM by 9 different designers. This is an interpretation of what it might look like today if there was such a space. It seems to have disappeared with todays modern architecture.

When all is said and done, it’s hard to beat a galley kitchen for efficient workspace in a small area. A modern interpretation of the Arts and Crafts style makes for delightful efficiency. Project 6370.1

Reinterpreting design elements that characterize earlier styles, is always an engaging exercise. The Arts & Crafts influence is apparent here, but the interpretation is distinctly contemporary. The art of exploring fresh treatments of familiar design themes, to complement contemporary spaces, requires deep respect for the sensibilities that gave the original work its appeal. Both the choice of a warm native hardwood (cherry) with a natural finish, and the obviously “crafted” nature of the joinery in these doors speak directly to the values promoted in the Arts & Crafts movement. The goal is a contemporary alternative to the stark minimalism that typifies much of the modern cabinetry we see. Project # 6370.3 Photographer: Michael Meyers

Defining a sense of place is a work of art by a team of excellent players(BPC architects and Cross Rip Builders) and the homeowner that bring their clear senses of who they are to the program is exquisitely interpreted here.

Our design goal for this renovation and addition was to present a modern interpretation of Colonial Plantation Style. This home features dark wood floors, wood paneling and a light soothing color scheme. The Dining Room features classic silk De Gournay Wallpaper which further fuses the indoor and outdoor seamlessness of the home. The amazing tile installations permeate the decor with color, texture and pattern. The shaker-style kitchen is refreshed by using black cabinetry, a custom stainless hood and La Cornue Range. We enjoyed adding vintage finds throughout - a farm table for the Kitchen, Bergere chairs in the Entry, and a Victorian Flower mirror in the Powder Room. threshold interiors ensures that your beach retreat is elegant, transitional and most importantly comfortable and relaxing!

An extensive renovation and addition to a 1960’s-era spec house on a lovely private pond, this project sought to give a contemporary upgrade to a property that sought to incorporate classical elegance with a modern interpretation. The new house is reconceived as a three part project – the relocation of the existing home closer to the adjacent pond, the restoration of a historical stone boat house, and a modern connection between the two structures. This design called for welcoming porch that runs the full extent of the garden and pond façade, while from all three structures - framing the beautiful views of a rich lawn sloping down to the pond below

Simple clean design...in this master bathroom renovation things were kept in the same place but in a very different interpretation. The shower is where the exiting one was, but the walls surrounding it were taken out, a curbless floor was installed with a sleek tile-over linear drain that really goes away. A free-standing bathtub is in the same location that the original drop in whirlpool tub lived prior to the renovation. The result is a clean, contemporary design with some interesting "bling" effects like the bubble chandelier and the mirror rounds mosaic tile located in the back of the niche.
