This light and airy transitional style bathroom is what dreams are made of. By combining a mixture of metals, stones and light wood you create a modern space with a homey feel.

While we gathered most of her Chinoiserie collection on the bookcase, we continued the look around her room, including this chinoiserie pot here holding an orchid, which we placed on her gorgeous new Hooker Furniture Sorella sideboard that we added into the room from Perigold.

This gorgeous sideboard in my client's new design is located on the other end of the living room across from the fireplace and bookcases. The chinoiserie balances the blue and white from one end of the room to the other, along with her Japanese garden stool. We also worked in her love of traditional French country, with her lamps, pillows and other décor. The colorful artwork continues her love of lemon yellow throughout the room while giving the room a fresh modern look and appeal.

It's fun to watch my clients newly decorated homes continue to redefine themselves throughout the seasons of the year. As I work with each client to "redesign their homes and their lives from the inside out", transformations occur both within the home and the client themselves. In a project I did earlier this year, we transformed my clients dining room into a space that reflects her love of wine and the Tuscany region. The beautiful blue and gold tones anchor this space and are reflected boldly in the gorgeous rug from Grandin Road.

Recently while working with a client, we explored one of her rooms that had become filled with items over time. The room was rich with color, but it had become a bit crowded with items where you couldn't truly appreciate the beautiful classic décor she had collected over the years. As we uncovered the variety of décor throughout her home, I discovered she had a wonderful collection of chinoiserie pottery. We then decided to gather all of the pieces together to display on her bookcases in her living room where they could be enjoyed and appreciated as a collection. We followed through with her love of blue and white by adding some Mackenzie Childs royal blue check pillows onto her sofa. Here's her collection now prominently displayed:

On the other side of the room we have this gorgeous Wine Bar from Pottery Barn, holding the owners special collection of fine wine and bar accessories. Her crystal is stored here along with some holiday decor we've tucked inside. The gorgeous "Berry and Bright Garland" up top is from Frontgate and it really defines this area. I've arranged her glasses and bar accessories so that they really play up the colors in the room. I love her copper Moscow Mules, so they had to have a place of honor and loved her collection of silver bowls and Ralph Lauren Glen Plaid Old Fashion glasses with the faceted cuts. For a bit of whimsy, I added a book titled Restoring Italy behind the glasses in the bar, as a nod to the redecorating work we've done in this room.

My clients new delightful Christmas tree is from Balsam Hill, which I have to say is one of the easiest and greatest designs that I have ever seen for a tree. I'm now in love with this company and recommend their trees to everyone. My client has some gorgeous ornaments that she's collected over the years and we are making the shift from her predominantly red holiday decor into the new blue and gold that she has introduced into this room. One way we did this was to add the blue plaid ribbon from Ballard Designs to anchor a blue color into the tree.
