The Faulkner family home is a large detached property in an idyllic setting in the village of Saltford, near Bath. Although purchased in good order overall, the existing kitchen did not work for them as a family and as such needed a complete redesign. Having researched possible contractors, Jen and Dave Faulkner had heard good things about Mobius’ work and decided to engage them to help with a complete overhaul of the kitchen and dining area of their home. Mobius worked closely with Mrs Faulkner to ensure the design, look, finish and practical elements were in line with their needs as a family. The work involved a full refit of the kitchen and dining area including electrics, plumbing, tiling, bespoke joinery and decoration, and the results are spectacular. Mrs Faulkner said: “All the Mobius team were amazing to work with. My ideas and needs were listened to and suggestions were made to help finalise the design. The work was completed on time, to an exceptionally high standard and with no hidden costs. The outcome is better than we’d anticipated.” When asked about the overall experience and what she would say to others considering engaging Mobius, Mrs Faulkner responded: “Do it! The outdated, 1980's kitchen needed some serious updating. Renovate Paint and Design helped the customer realize the space potential by redesigning it while balancing a contemporary updated look with whites and natural light and medium browns. A larger opening was created along with a large passthrough opening to the living room. A breakout of all the work involved: - All popcorn ceiling textured in the kitchen and throughout the house was removed, new texture was applied, and 2 coats of Sherwin Williams flat sheen was applied. - Demolition of entire kitchen. - Large opening framed out in Kitchen with LVL beam added for support. - A kitchen pass-through opening also framed out and completed. - Old kitchen light box removed, drywall repaired, and 4 6" LED recessed lighting even spaced installed. - Shaker style cabinets custom made and painted, with soft-close doors-drawers, spice rack pull outs, lazy-susan, and wine-rack built. - New stainless steel appliances installed: vent hood, microwave, stovetop, ovens, refrigerator, and dishwasher - Kitchen level-3 Quartz countertops with eased edge profile installed. - White ceramic backsplash installed - Luxury vinyl tile installed throughout kitchen area. - New baseboards installed and caulked. - Kitchen walls painted with 2-coats of Sherwin Williams Super Paint, and trim painted with Pro Classic Oil. - More installations: electrical outlets, stainless steel sink basin, faucets, and additional storage cabinets in laundry room.

This detached accessory dwelling unit/garage combo was a labor of love by the homeowner to provide a place for family to comfortably live independently. Everyone involved is proud of the workmanship. This project was a part of the Residential Infill Pilot Program. Over 150 yards of dirt/mud was removed. Our mason successfully matched the brick to the main home. The vaulted ceiling and short wall give the living space an open feel. This project is a perfect example of a homeowner working with the government and the trades to achieve a new space that blends in with the neighborhood.

This bathroom remodel involved a complete rework of the plumbing, and electrical layout from the existing bathroom. The clients dream bathroom included a jacuzzi tub, large shower, and lots of tile, mission accomplished! Additional features include tile base, handheld shower unit, seamless shower drain, and a shower niche on backside of the knee wall for a clean looking shower.

We purchased this home that hadn't had much of an opportunity to have been revitalized throughout the years, therefore, had grown old and tired. We were excited at the vision of what it could be! Through a 5 month process we renovated and refurbished this home with updated bathrooms, kitchen, flooring, ceilings, and exterior work, and fully new windows and french door to create the indoor/outdoor living. Added on a new guest bathroom and laundry room, skylights, and elegant chandeliers and further updated the electrical, plumbing and A/C and heating units. The end product was magnificently elegant with a breathtaking kitchen, modern bathrooms, with a distinct contrast in flooring materials used that left an impressive impression for everyone that toured the property. The before and after pictures of the facade of the property were so contrasting that people who had previously seen pictures of the property or the property itself had a hard time recognizing it when driving by. This project was a huge success for our company and created the elevated energy for all that were involved, including the upliftment of the neighborhood.

This is a new construction free-standing custom greenhouse and garage features a fully finished interior space with plenty of natural light, a storage loft, and added amenities like an electric kiln and EV charger. Siting this new building also involved a new graded landscape and driveway, and drainage.

Custom-built in the early eighties, this contemporary home was cloaked in all brown board siding with brown windows and a cumbersome street-facing carport. The current owners had raised their family there on property that borders serene conservation land. Now they were ready for a new, brighter exterior look that would include all new windows to take in the exquisite view, unobscured by the fog of failing window seals; new siding that wouldn’t be subject to woodpecker wear and tear; a refinished screen porch; a new garage to replace the undersized carport; and new entry access. On the interior, they wanted the new, fresh vibe to extend to the design of three renovated modern bathrooms. In response, KHS proposed black-framed windows throughout in simpler configurations; fiber-cement (and PVC) exterior cladding in three textures to differentiate functions and features; a unifying light-gray and white palette teamed with clear-finished mahogany/sapele to carry across the exterior as well as the bathroom renovations; a stream-lined screen porch with cable rails; a new shed-roofed garage to resolve the exterior massing; and a new covered walkway entrance delivering those arriving into a repurposed interior space. Once the overall design was resolved, the owners elected to complete the work in phases over several years. Phase 1 included renovating the powder room, guest bathroom, and primary bathroom, and refreshing the screen porch. See the reconceived modern bathrooms here on the KHS website. Next came constructing the new garage and entry, which on the interior included new floor tile and a new entry wall-paneling system to conceal electrical, solar, and security panels/controls. Phase III involved installing the rest of the new windows and completing the comprehensive new exterior cladding and palette to tie the earlier phases together. To cap it off, KHS worked with the owners to select new clean-lined furnishings for the living area in colors inspired by their coastal view.

This House is located in a Historic Area of Westchester NY. The Tudor Homes which have been lovingly restored add charm to the tree lined streets. The client purchased a mature, small, NAPA Valley vineyard to be their home and for personal enjoyment. Once they began converting their new "hobby" grapes into wine, they soon realized they needed a place to "age" their labors and a place to then enjoy them. They decided to design such a place within the confines of their home where they could entertain family and friends. The structure was modified to allow storage of more than 200 individual bottles, cases, and magnum size bottles. A cask room was added as was a well-appointed tasting room. The storage area is separated from the tasting and social area by a tempered glass doors and windows. The space to be converted was a challenge. No surface was plumb or level, therefore, the remodel involved interior walls, new floors and ceilings. Until these issues were addressed, the beautiful cabinet work, and a complete temperature and humidity control system to store, maintain, and enjoy the wine could not be started. The floors had to be floated out and chases with faux finishes provided for HVAC and electrical. Lighting in the tasting room is provided by a series of recessed and puck lights. The bar/counter area is highlighted by a custom, Tiffany style chandelier. Enough space was left in front of the bar to accommodate two serving tables for food and snacks, with plenty of room to move about the space. Discreetly hidden behind the bar is a large capacity cooler that can chill several bottles at once. The bar is capped with eight lineal feet of Calcutta Gold Marble and sports a brass foot rail. The bar has grape panels between Acanthus Corbels and the bottle storage cabinet areas are a unique blend of Acanthus overlays under precisely cut and mitered grape design crown molding over and around a cleverly designed bottle storage system. Traffic flow is achieved through the multiple points of entry through any of three pairs of 6' custom double doors which, when weather permitting, can remain open while entertaining. The host and hostess can attend food and beverage service from behind and around the bar through a separate doorway. The temperature controlled cask storage area is large enough for the clients' current needs, and can accommodate a larger number of casks should the need arise. The floor and walls of the cask room are designed for easy maintenance.. Both rooms are delightfully decorated with earthen tone faux finishes on walls, ceilings and floors reminiscent of a nonspecific European wine making region. This effect is extended to the soffits in the tasting room. A unique wine racking system is easily stored, providing even greater ability to maintain and move about the storage area.

Carter Fox Renovations was hired to do a complete renovation of this semi-detached home in the Gerrard-Coxwell neighbourhood of Toronto. The main floor was completely gutted and transformed - most of the interior walls and ceilings were removed, a large sliding door installed across the back, and a small powder room added. All the electrical and plumbing was updated and new herringbone hardwood installed throughout. Upstairs, the bathroom was expanded by taking space from the adjoining bedroom. We added a second floor laundry and new hardwood throughout. The walls and ceiling were plaster repaired and painted, avoiding the time, expense and excessive creation of landfill involved in a total demolition. The walls and ceilings were stripped down to the framing and the plumbing, electrical and HVAC were modified. New plaster walls and ceilings were installed. The original hardwood floors were weaved together and refinished. The window over the sink was replaced with a new shorter window. This North Shore of Boston client wanted to make a change; she decided to purchase a seaside antique home and was up for the challenge to re-design and remodel. Her plan involved re-locating her mother from Florida to the newly added wing of the house when the remodel was in full swing. We believed that what was standing between our client and the kitchen of her dreams was a well thought out, creative design and a wall or two… Once outdated and worn, this 1830 antique kitchen was closed off from the family room and dining spaces. The newly re-configured kitchen with re-claimed wide-plank wood floors and restorations to wood cladding on the ceiling, beam and open corner shelving really warmed up the room and welcomes friends, neighbors and relatives. Wood bead board paneling around the island cabinetry along with mixed metals, tie in nicely with the stunning soapstone countertops with distinctive copper-colored veining, creating a beautiful vintage appeal. Styled to look like an old-fashioned stove, this steel range boasts modern conveniences such as dual-fuel (gas burners and electric oven) and a convection oven crowned by a custom steel hood adorned with rivets and metal trims. To enrich the vintage feel, a white farm-style fire clay apron sink was installed that also evokes a classic and time- honored feel. Although the process was daunting as it presented several challenges, it was a rewarding experience when the project was completed.
