Middlefork was retained to update and revitalize this North Shore home to a family of six. The primary goal of this project was to update and expand the home's small, eat-in kitchen. The existing space was gutted and a 1,500-square-foot addition was built to house a gourmet kitchen, connected breakfast room, fireside seating, butler's pantry, and a small office. The family desired nice, timeless spaces that were also durable and family-friendly. As such, great consideration was given to the interior finishes. The 10' kitchen island, for instance, is a solid slab of white velvet quartzite, selected for its ability to withstand mustard, ketchup and finger-paint. There are shorter, walnut extensions off either end of the island that support the children's involvement in meal preparation and crafts. Low-maintenance Atlantic Blue Stone was selected for the perimeter counters. The scope of this phase grew to include re-trimming the front façade and entry to emphasize the Georgian detailing of the home. In addition, the balance of the first floor was gutted; existing plumbing and electrical systems were updated; all windows were replaced; two powder rooms were updated; a low-voltage distribution system for HDTV and audio was added; and, the interior of the home was re-trimmed. What a fun project to work on with this builder. They build beautiful homes in our area, and have a high level of quality expectations. The design was virtually in place when we get involved. The selection of rift cut or rift sawn White Oak was beautiful. But, the inset overlay was the icing on the cake. This was during covid, so had some delays, but all in all it turned out very well.

The design for this property involved creating a series of spaces to complement the principle spaces of the house and allow for the many activities of a very active family. A kitchen garden off the family entrance provides an intimate space for reflection, a sports lawn off the rear of the house allows for elegant entertainment as well as lawn tennis, and a graceful stair through a grove of hydrangea provides access to another large lawn and play area. Plant material is selected to complement the classic design of the house.

Working closely with the builder, Madrone Construction, and the home owners, Patty Jones of Patty Jones Design, LLC selected and designed interior finishes for this custom home which features Sapele wood cabinetry, Hubbardton Forge Light Fixtures, modern cabinetry, and solid slab counter tops. Patty also selected exterior finishes – stain and paint colors, stone, roof color, etc. Patty was involved early through the initial planning working with the home architectural designer, Joey Shaw of Homeland Designs, LLC including preparing the presentation board and documentation for the Architectural Review Committee. All materials and products were sourced locally.

Inspiration for a contemporary men's walk-in closet remodel in Orange County

Master Bedroom dream closet with custom cabinets featuring glass front doors and all lit within. M2 Design Group worked on this from initial design concept to move-in. They were involved in every decision on architectural plans, build phase, selecting all finish-out items and furnishings and accessories.

This project involved a vast remodel of poorly executed alterations to a smaller kitchen, butler's pantry and laundry areas housed within a historic 1929 residence. Our new design provides an open updated version of a period appropriate kitchen. Details such as arching exterior doors and new windows with matching cremone bolts were added. All cabinetry is our custom design and was fabricated with extensive marquetry, hand carving and special aging to the wood. The highly figured soapstone counters and decorative tiles were hand selected. Furnishings are both antique and new made to order pieces.

Working closely with the home owners and the builder, Jess Alway, Inc., Patty Jones of Patty Jones Design, LLC selected and designed interior finishes for this custom home which features distressed oak wood cabinetry with custom stain to create an old world effect, reclaimed wide plank fir hardwood, hand made tile mural in range back splash, granite slab counter tops with thick chiseled edges, custom designed interior and exterior doors, stained glass windows provided by the home owners, antiqued travertine tile, and many other unique features. Patty also selected exterior finishes – stain and paint colors, stone, roof color, etc. and was involved early with the initial planning working with the home architectural designer including preparing the presentation board and documentation for the Architectural Review Committee.

Reflections was hired to update a 1980's bath with a new color concept, plumbing fixtures and overall design of the space. The footprint of the bathroom stayed the same but with our help the room has been transformed. The client is a business professional who did not have a lot of time so she did not want to be involved in the project. We presented an overall plan and selected all of the materials for the room. The one thing that was required by the client was a nice tub. We gutted the whole bathroom, redesigned the vanity with built in storage towers, created an open shower area, and put in a large free standing tub. We selected the tile, plumbing fixtures, lighting, mirror, custom window treatments, and art work. The end result was a glamorous bathroom with a dramatic counter top and vanity area. This space is not only beautiful but fully functional for all the client needs.
