ELITE DESIGN AWARD WINNER 2016: This academic professor works from home, and decided to come up from the basement to take advantage of the natural light on the main floor. We turned this playroom into a fully functioning multi-person office space that allows customization and flexibility no matter the task. His research is far from square and boring – so we came up with a unique curvilinear countertop design using Maple desktops from Décor Cabinets, which truly add a touch of whimsy to the everyday. Against his wife’s preference, his creative process requires access to many types of material at once, so solutions like bi-fold cabinets and the large aluminum tambour doors allow him to organize loose papers, but shut away the mess when the day is done. Mixing a few different finishes creates enough interest so that staying in the same room for long periods is far from boring, and the acid etch mirror inserts give a frosted glass look without showing any of the mess inside. With this design, the move upstairs was a benefit for everyone.

Originally, a doorway from the porch/kitchen was where the credenza now sits. Since the dining room steps down from the main level, there was also a step here, which cut into the already moderately-sized space. Closing off that doorway, allowed for a more functional space. The only place the family had for a keyboard for their daughter was in this kitchen, so we added a piece of artwork above it that the homeowners found and liked. We painted the brick wall, which is the back side of a fireplace. The texture adds a nice feature to the comfortable dining space.

This room went from plain to insane! Custom made cabinets and attached desk make for perfect work area/home office. The cabinets and desk are maple hand rubbed/ wiped stain black with puck lights and liner LED lights to give it some brightness. There's a printer pullout, file drawer pullout and a flip down keyboard for ease of use. Raise your hand if you want this custom built office in your home!!

This remodel transformed two condos into one, overcoming access challenges. We designed the space for a seamless transition, adding function with a laundry room, powder room, bar, and entertaining space. A sleek office table and chair complement the stunning blue-gray wallpaper in this home office. The corner lounge chair with an ottoman adds a touch of comfort. Glass walls provide an open ambience, enhanced by carefully chosen decor, lighting, and efficient storage solutions.

Modern Office w/traditional echoes of dark cordovan stain over Bamboo Plywood & Raffia inserts. The client wanted to create his own personal retreat in a high energy house (Think ManCave, hence the large massage chair!). The wrap around peninsula desk area with sweeping kneespace has hinged modesty panels built in for discrete wire management. Printer & paper shredder pull-outs as well as pencil drawers with flip-down faces to double as keyboard drawers. Plenty of lateral file space nearby and incorporated in the sofa end tables that support the tower bookcases with LED lightbridge. Watch TV or pour a sipping Brandy from the office entertainment display. Wainscot with Raffia throughout and accented by the custom Bamboo Crown millwork.

This custom is bed is designed for small spaces and comes in many different colors and sizes. The bed folds down into a desk and is spring loaded so it's very easy for a child to do this. The items on the desktop don't need to be moved when folding down into the bed position and stay stationary.Added bookcases or shelf towers can be installed with additional accessories such as drawers and doors, keyboard trays, file cabinets, lighting, and power strips.
