To spotlight the owners’ worldly decor, this remodel quietly complements the furniture and art textures, colors, and patterns abundant in this beautiful home. The original master bath had a 1980s style in dire need of change. By stealing an adjacent bedroom for the new master closet, the bath transformed into an artistic and spacious space. The jet-black herringbone-patterned floor adds visual interest to highlight the freestanding soaking tub. Schoolhouse-style shell white sconces flank the matching his and her vanities. The new generous master shower features polished nickel dual shower heads and hand shower and is wrapped in Bedrosian Porcelain Manifica Series in Luxe White with satin finish. The kitchen started as dated and isolated. To add flow and more natural light, the wall between the bar and the kitchen was removed, along with exterior windows, which allowed for a complete redesign. The result is a streamlined, open, and light-filled kitchen that flows into the adjacent family room and bar areas – perfect for quiet family nights or entertaining with friends. Crystal Cabinets in white matte sheen with satin brass pulls, and the white matte ceramic backsplash provides a sleek and neutral palette. The newly-designed island features Calacutta Royal Leather Finish quartz and Kohler sink and fixtures. The island cabinets are finished in black sheen to anchor this seating and prep area, featuring round brass pendant fixtures. One end of the island provides the perfect prep and cut area with maple finish butcher block to match the stove hood accents. French White Oak flooring warms the entire area. This white-on-white kitchen design has a transitional style and incorporates beautiful clean lines. It features a Personal Paint Match finish on the Kitchen Island matched to Sherwin-Williams "Threshold Taupe" SW7501 and a mix of light tan paint and vibrant orange décor. These colors really pop out on the “white canvas” of this design. The designer chose a beautiful combination of white Dura Supreme cabinetry (in "Classic White" paint), white subway tile backsplash, white countertops, white trim, and a white sink. The built-in breakfast nook (L-shaped banquette bench seating) attached to the kitchen island was the perfect choice to give this kitchen seating for entertaining and a kitchen island that will still have free counter space while the homeowner entertains. Four work stations fit and function easily and beautifully in a tidy 300 SF space: (1) cooking, including separate gas and electric cooking surfaces; (2) prep/cleaning, on the island; and (3) food storage, in the cherry wood armoire concealing both refrigerator and pantry. (4) is the area between the food storage and double ovens (around the corner from the formal serving hutch) and is devoted to baking.

Breakfast nook design in a Dallas home featuring built-in banquette seating, a rustic wood table, and layered textiles, creating a bright, inviting space for everyday dining and gathering.

The owners wanted to not only update their kitchen, but rather enhance the space and create a thing of beauty. We were excited to work with them in their goal. So the space was 'gutted', saving the existing hardwood flooring, which was later refinished. The existing windows and doors were replaced and resized. Note the window seat that was framed and finished with cabinet panels under the kitchen windows. A larger beautiful island was added, which provides additional seating, as well. The existing simple desk area was transformed with a stunning custom buffet. The owners wanted two types of tile back splash. Our skilled craftsman installed the brick pattern back splash near the sink, and the unique design back splash in the cooking area. As you can see, the results are breathtaking, and the owners were thrilled. A new custom Butler Pantry was installed with under cabinet lighting, glass doors, and a unique pattern tile back splash, creating a focal point as they entertain. Increasing storage was just one of the many challenges Monarch faced in the transformation of this small kitchen into a functional, bright open space. Monarch worked with the homeowners to design a kitchen that fits beautifully with their love of mid-century modern pieces and style. Quartz countertops with matching backsplash and white upper cabinets provide the perfect contrast to the walnut veneer cabinetry throughout. With additional storage available in a facing wall of white cabinetry, Monarch was able to incorporate a double oven, built-in microwave and pots-and-pans drawer.
