This was a fascinating project for incredible clients. To optimize costs and timelines, our Montecito studio took the existing Craftsman style of the kitchen and transformed it into a more contemporary one. We reused the perimeter cabinets, repainted for a fresh look, and added new walnut cabinets for the island and the appliances wall. The solitary pendant for the kitchen island was the focal point of our design, leaving our clients with a beautiful and everlasting kitchen remodel. --- Project designed by Montecito interior designer Margarita Bravo. A chunky Everest Honed Quartzite not only tops the island but flanks the kitchen and runs straight up the backsplash, making this truly a kitchen built for a busy family that loves to gather and cook.

The kitchen is a mix of existing and new cabinets that were made to match. Marmoleum (a natural sheet linoleum) flooring sets the kitchen apart in the home’s open plan. It is also low maintenance and resilient underfoot. Custom stainless steel countertops match the appliances, are low maintenance and are, uhm, stainless!

Kitchen / Gathering Room Features Large Custom Island with Built-in Booth with Birds Eye Maple TableTop. Concrete Floors were finished with epoxy coating. Black Fiberglass windows have drywall returns. Custom Designed and Built Lighting Includes Black Tube & Can Chandelier and Drywall Soffits Suspended from 2-story ceiling by black rods. Upper walls feature metal laminate accent panels with accent lighting.

This beautiful kitchen complete with plenty of white cabinet space and herringbone tile back splash is a room where good meals are made and shared with family and friends. The simple wrought iron chandelier along with the butcher block island create a rustic feel while French doors and floral accents add a touch of elegance.

Less is More modern interior approach includes simple hardwood floor,single wall solid black laminate kitchen cabinetry and kitchen island, clean straight open space layout. A lack of clutter and bold accent color palettes tie into the minimalist approach to modern design.

This elegant kitchen is conveniently located in the center of the space, keeping the cook engaged with guests. The island's gray cabinetry provides contrast to the white kitchen cabinets, quartzite countertops, and marble backsplash. The cabinets fill the 9' ceiling volume with lit glass-front displays at the top. The stools coordinate with the table and chairs as well as the sunroom, all in easily cleanable performance fabric. The custom pendant lights are elegant in their simplicity with linen shades and brushed nickel finishes, ending with teardrop Swarovski crystals.
