This new construction project located in the metro-west Boston area perfectly exemplifies the transitional style. Mouser Centra white beaded inset cabinets along the perimeter of the kitchen is softly balanced by the gunmetal island, both topped with LG Viatera Racoco quartz countertops. Arched brick ceiling with a custom made light fixture. The owners found the parts for this light fixture over the island and had a local artist create this one of a kind fixture. The table with the seating is made from an old bowling alley lane. The pin placement marks can still be seen on the table top. The table is free standing so it can be moved off the island if desired. What was once a tool box now hangs on the wall to house various necklaces. Even with such rugged origins, the display has a decidedly feminine appeal. "My girlfriend had come across these old tool boxes at an estate sale. The person that owned them painted the tools that hung on each hook, so it makes for a great story," says Jennifer.
