Home theater - mid-sized modern enclosed carpeted and beige floor home theater idea in New York with a media wall

In this elegant and simple kitchen renovation, the owners wanted to add extra lighting to two places in the kitchen that normally do not receive enough light - the under cabinet area and in the cabinets. The owners wanted to find a simple solution without having excess installation requirements, such as drilling and work to fit large traditional lighting fixtures. Here instead they looked to Solid Apollo for the slim and easy to install LED Strip Light - shown here in the beautiful Warm White color, which suits the wood cabinet colors. The LED Strip Light has an extremely low profile and includes double sided sticky back tape for an easy to install and permanent installation. The photos shown here show the completed kitchen with the LED Lights turned on, another photo of the renovation in progress and several photos of the dimmer, simple barrel connections, and the slide and lock LED Strip connectors for quick easy-to-hide connections. The dimmer used here is the iTouch LED Dimmer, which is a simple in-line LED Dimmer for quick and easy on/off and dimming control. And with the included double sided tape, the slim dimmer can easily be hidden in a discrete location, compared to unsightly traditional wall dimmers that upset the carefully chosen back splash designs and require excessive effort for installation.

Solid Apollo LED. The owner of this kitchen found that after the remodel, the lighting on the countertops was much darker than anticipated from the dark colored granite counter tops. The owner choose to use Premium LED Light Bars in Daylight White for a finished appearance which easily plugged together. The Premium LED Light Bars are a low profile modular design with built in hinges for quick installation. For controlling the lights, the owner choose to use the light bar motion detector, to turn on the lights by the wave of a hand, and the owner also used an inline dimmer switch to fine tune the brightness from the light bars.

As traditional lighting would have been difficult to intigrate, the owner realized he could leave a small reccessed channel around the back of each shelf area, just large enough to place color changing RGB LED strip light. At each corner, Snap & Lite 90 degree L connectors were used for quick connections, without the need for soldering. The both strip light areas are controlled by the Black Glass Touch In-Wall RGB Controller, with a basic color wheel, pre-programmed color changing programs, and full dimming control.

CASA 1O Contemporary on a Mid-century Scaffold. Largely unmodified since its design by Russell Forester and construction in 1957, the structure housed the original family until 2013. An intimate 1,910 square foot space, the house acquired a separate 600 square foot cottage in the 70’s designed by another architect. New owners purchased the house with the idea of keeping the original architect’s intent intact – the simple accommodation of everyday life with a focus on outdoor living only possible in Southern California. At the same time the house needed insulation, new electrical, plumbing, siding – everything but new studs and foundations. A single roof beam travels south from the north fireplace wall all the way to the bedrooms in the back. Functions occur to either side, with private access to exterior courtyards. How do we accentuate the uncomplicated while enhancing the qualities of the chosen materials? Contemporary applied to a mid-century scaffold. We focused on reduction, a few things performing many tasks. Each component, material or color performs more than one duty. Lighting is paramount, enhancing the design’s procession from front to back, north to south, public to private. Strip LED’s reinforce the beam’s linear presence and spot LED’s make punctuation points of the roof purlins. Hidden up and down-lights in the cabinets and elsewhere provide the rooms with a quiet glow. Exterior grass plantings give the only vertical dimension to the design, waving as the breeze moves them. Dean Ericson. Solid Apollo LED. The owners of this entry foyer wanted to bring some character and much needed light to this otherwise dull area which received very little natural light. During the renovation they contacted us as they wanted to recreate a vintage look to the entire foyer and wanted to find just the right light to highlight the copper-leaved coves installed around the ceiling. Here Warm White Nano LED Strip Light has been used around the entire ceiling adding warmth without being too bright. The Nano LED Strip Light is the smallest strip light available on the market and is perfect for applications like this one were the lip below the cove is small. The owners did a great job of tucking the power supply and receiver away (which is used in conjunction with the wireless 5-zone remote control for easy brightness control).

The waterproof and recessed low profile design meant it could handle accidental splashes of water while staying just as bright and the first day of installation.
