Contemporary gray three-story mixed siding exterior home idea in San Francisco
Contemporary gray three-story mixed siding exterior home idea in San Francisco

Situated on a 3.5 acre, oak-studded ridge atop Santa Barbara's Riviera, the Greene Compound is a 6,500 square foot custom residence with guest house and pool capturing spectacular views of the City, Coastal Islands to the south, and La Cumbre peak to the north. Carefully sited to kiss the tips of many existing large oaks, the home is rustic Mediterranean in style which blends integral color plaster walls with Santa Barbara sandstone and cedar board and batt.
Landscape Architect Lane Goodkind restored the native grass meadow and added a stream bio-swale which complements the rural setting. 20' mahogany, pocketing sliding doors maximize the indoor / outdoor Santa Barbara lifestyle by opening the living spaces to the pool and island view beyond. A monumental exterior fireplace and camp-style margarita bar add to this romantic living. Discreetly buried in the mission tile roof, solar panels help to offset the home's overall energy consumption. Truly an amazing and unique property, the Greene Residence blends in beautifully with the pastoral setting of the ridge while complementing and enhancing this Riviera neighborhood.

Imagine a floor that seems to meld two entirely different materials—soft, sensual fabric and strong, solid wood. This gorgeous hardwood has a delicately suede surface that actually feels soft to the touch.
• Each unique plank is hand-brushed with firm wire implements, which dig into the soft portions of the wood, leaving the harder minerals intact. The result is a new emphasis on the grain and the six color variations—the grain stands out dynamically, and the colors are enriched.
• Can be installed virtually anywhere—on, above, or below grade in a nail, staple, glue-down, or floating installation method.
In the flooring industry, there’s no shortage of competition. If you’re looking for hardwoods, you’ll find thousands of product options and hundreds of people willing to install them for you. The same goes for tile, carpet, laminate, etc.
At Fantastic Floors, our mission is to provide a quality product, at a competitive price, with a level of service that exceeds our competition. We don’t “sell” floors. We help you find the perfect floors for your family in our design center, or bring the showroom to you free of charge. We take the time to listen to your needs, and help you select the best flooring option to fit your budget and lifestyle. We can answer any questions you have about how your new floors are engineered and why they make sense for you…all in the comfort of our home or yours.
We work with designers, retail customers, commercial builders, and real estate investors to improve an existing space or create one that is totally new and unique...and we’d love to work with you.

? Bathrooms
From statement floors to sleek matte black fixtures, the bathrooms are a standout. Custom tile work, recessed shower niches with patterned insets, and handcrafted vanities give each space personality and function. The hex-tile shower pan contrasts perfectly with white subway walls, while matte black trim and accessories provide a bold, modern edge.
? Kitchen
The kitchen is a bright, welcoming space with warm-tone cabinetry, soft-close drawers, and elegant quartz countertops. A herringbone tile backsplash adds texture and visual interest. Open shelving and under-cabinet lighting highlight the clean, modern lines while offering practical storage and display space. Stainless steel appliances and a black pull-down faucet complete the look with balance and sophistication.
? Living Area
Anchoring the living room is a minimalist fireplace wrapped in elegant porcelain slab, paired with a floating wood mantel for a touch of natural texture. Soft wood flooring throughout enhances the light-filled, cohesive vibe of the home.
This remodel combines timeless materials, functional upgrades, and elevated finishes — creating a refined but livable home that’s built to impress.
