A brick artisan was hired to match the ornate pattern of the original house. We reused as much as we could from the demolition and filled in with reclaimed bricks of a similar age.

The focal point of this kitchen is the hood. With beefy legs that support the upper structure and have open shelves built into the sides, the arched hood fascia is simple but draws attention simply for its size and strength. Likewise, the island has large turned columns at corners and integrates bench seating at the dining table.

Likewise the orientation of those chaise lounges was discussed at great length, with the designers trying "every possible" placement and orientation. And we realize that those chair legs aren't fastened down when we leave... We just...care

The owners wanted a space, which could house and showcase their substantial art collection. Boldly turning the floor plan’s wall angles out of parallel to the exterior building envelope and creating a sculptural rounded room allowed for interesting continuous flow through the space and an intriguing visual play from one room to the next. The lighting, shade control, and ceiling heights were all optimally designed to showcase the artwork. Likewise, the simple yet tasteful furnishings do not compete with the art.
