For the Cottages & Bungalows Magazine‘s 2019 Project House partnership with Yankee Barn Homes, we conceived our “Great NH Escape” Great Room for an active family from a suburban/Metro area who crave the quiet and rugged outdoors of New Hampshire for their getaway weekends, both winter and summer.
Though a second home, we felt that the parents truly saw Yankee Barn Homes’ spectacular post-and-beam Springfield Barn House as a “Forever Home-Away-from-Home” – the long-term backdrop for their family’s North Woods memories and a refuge to return to time and again from the noise of the more congested town where they live. As such, we furnished it with the same well-crafted, American-made décor that would stand the test of time in any investment home and a fresh classic style that would reflect the fun vitality of their family.

RECO is proud of our long-term relationships with area contractors, and we’ve partnered with Alameda’s Buestad Construction on both residential and commercial projects. We recently completed an extensive remodel of the largest estate in Alameda. There were many challenges on this project which lasted for the better part of a year. We rewired the entire estate to bring it up to current standards, while retaining the traditional aesthetic of this lovely old home.
This complex project necessitated the installation of a new pad mount transformer onto the project site, moving all existing and future feeds underground–an unusual undertaking for a residence, requiring extensive coordination with the local utility and the City.
Project pictures of the estate’s enormous kitchen provide insights into the massive scale of this project.

Our customers live on a beautiful and quiet cul-de-sac in Falls Church. As the original owners of their home, they knew that eventually they would want to remodel their large unfinished basement. After enjoying their home for several years, they chose to partner with MOSS to take their space and create the basement of their dreams. They had many ideas and thoughts for what the space might look like, to which our team listened carefully, and used that inspiration to design and construct the ideal finished product for them.
Our homeowners envisioned a space that could be multi-purpose for all ages to enjoy. The result is a cozy family room area with a massive central fireplace and television, a small bar with sink and dishwasher, a large guest bedroom and bathroom for long-term visitors, a private exercise room, and a generous entrance to the outdoor patio.

Beautiful custom home located in the San Juan Islands in Washington State. Western Red Cedar and Ipe materials used throughout the home ensure it’s long term resistance to the moisture, weather and cold weather conditions on the islands. These materials will maintain their beauty and visual appearance for many years.

This walk-in shower was designed with daily comfort and long-term durability in mind. Clean, timeless tile selections create a bright, calming backdrop, while contrasting fixtures add subtle definition without overpowering the space.
A built-in bench provides practical seating and flexibility, supporting everything from relaxation to convenience. Recessed niches keep essentials neatly organized and within reach, maintaining a clean, uncluttered look.
Every element of the shower was thoughtfully planned to balance ease of use with lasting materials — creating a space that feels refined, functional, and comfortable for everyday living.

This modern backyard redesign is complete, and we’re so excited to share it with you! The space now features a cozy firepit area, a built-in BBQ with a pizza oven, an outdoor shower, and—our favorite—a raised composite platform built up around a prefab spa (drop in spa has never looked so good!!!). Toward the back, there’s a lawn area for the kids to play on while they are young, with a long-term plan for it to eventually transform into an ADU. While the yard’s narrow, elongated shape wasn’t the easiest to work with, we couldn’t be happier with the final result—and neither could our wonderful clients, which is always what matters most!

Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) design and construction compliant with California ADU laws (SB 9, SB 68, SB 1123). EDR Design Build provides turnkey ADU solutions including architectural design optimized for code compliance, permitting coordination with local jurisdictions, construction management, and final inspection. ADUs serve as guest houses, in-law quarters, rental income properties, or long-term housing solutions. Typical ADU sizes 400-800 sq ft with project costs ranging from $150K-$400K depending on configuration and finish levels.
