This "powder bath" is the only bathroom for downstairs guests in this gorgeous home, so we really had to give it some pop! Although labeled as a powder, there is actually a walk in shower in the room. We went with a calming blue palette with compliments of white, Calacatta gold marble, and french gold fixtures. This couple’s main request was for a calming spa like ensuite bath. The original floor plan was not changed but all the finishes and fixtures were replaced. Porcelain tile, glass and stone mosaic tile, custom vanities, new plumbing fixtures, shower and mirrors and lights replaced the builder grade materials. Coronado, CA The Alameda Residence is situated on a relatively large, yet unusually shaped lot for the beachside community of Coronado, California. The orientation of the “L” shaped main home and linear shaped guest house and covered patio create a large, open courtyard central to the plan. The majority of the spaces in the home are designed to engage the courtyard, lending a sense of openness and light to the home. The aesthetics take inspiration from the simple, clean lines of a traditional “A-frame” barn, intermixed with sleek, minimal detailing that gives the home a contemporary flair. The interior and exterior materials and colors reflect the bright, vibrant hues and textures of the seaside locale.

This gray and transitional kitchen remodel bridges the gap between contemporary style and traditional style. The dark gray cabinetry, light gray walls, and white subway tile backsplash make for a beautiful, neutral canvas for the bold teal blue and yellow décor accented throughout the design. Designer Gwen Adair of Cabinet Supreme by Adair did a fabulous job at using grays to create a neutral backdrop to bring out the bright, vibrant colors that the homeowners love so much. This Milwaukee, WI kitchen is the perfect example of Dura Supreme's recent launch of gray paint finishes, it has been interesting to see these new cabinetry colors suddenly flowing across our manufacturing floor, destined for homes around the country. Nestled between a wall of glass that leads onto a fantastic atrium and an imposing feature fireplace, this galley-style kitchen combines inspired attention to detail and traditional, modern and contemporary design elements to create minimalist space that delivers on style and functionality. The workspace and sink area is topped in Snow Caesarstone and features mirrored splashbacks that reflect the opposite view from the atrium, adding depth and interest to the kitchen area. The central island of American Walnut veneer and 100mm thick Midrange Iron Lace Marble is beautifully balanced by dropped stainless lighting, while the Vivid White cabinets above the sink are broken by a gorgeous display recess complete with lighting and finished in matching veneer. The study nook between the large American Walnut Veneer pantry and the atrium wall looks anything but bookish with its floating marble shelving. This kitchen proves compromise on style or functionality is not necessary when you have great design.

photos by Pedro Marti The clients hired us to overhaul a dated post war apartment on the upper Eastside of Manhattan. The clients wanted an open kitchen so we removed the wall separating the standard galley kitchen from the living area letting all the light from the adjacent glass terrace doors enter the kitchen. We also extended the footprint of the kitchen to create a large eat-in counter. The kitchen has a white on pale grey color scheme with custom white lacquer cabinetry, light grey wood grain base cabinetry, and light grey and white quartz counters and backsplash. The white and grey scheme continues in the powder room where a small white carrera marble and stainless steel wall hung sink is surrounded by a pale silver/grey grasscloth wallpaper. The master bathroom has a large dark wood double sink vanity with custom mirrored cabinets above that have tv’s within the mirrored glass. The master bathroom is tiled with a white thassos marble mini brick pattern pattern on the floors, a large white thassos marble wall tile, and dramatic white and black linear veined marmara marble wall tiles inside the shower. In the ensuite guest bathroom similar large white thassos marble tiles clad the wall with a custom grey and white glass mosaic inset behind the vanity and inside the tiled niche. Pedro Marti
