Designed and built by Terramor Homes in Raleigh, NC. In continuing the retreat feel, the goal in the master bath was to achieve a spa like feel. Inspired to incorporate the spa together with the tone of the rest of the home, the main focal element was a gorgeous free standing oval tub centered in the room under the vault of the ceiling and an 8 foot tall and 5 foot wide casement window that overlooks the river and greenway area behind the home. Directly across, the 6 foot by 6 foot full glass and glass tile was located- sharing the view out of the large windows. Flanking the tub are the adult height cabinets with large square legs and a shelf underneath, similar to the spa look that is expected. A full height cabinet pantry was added to encourage storage or rolled towels, bathing accessories and additional storage as well. The entire room was finished with a chocolate brown, 18” x 12” tile, laid in a brick pattern and continued up the walls for the consistent and clean look. Centered in the vault, a large, linen drum pendant with chrome trim drops- bringing elegance to the space. Small shelves were built at the bottom of each side of the vaulted ceiling to house the LED lighting that shines up the vaults of the ceiling, again replicating natural day light at any time of day. Silhouette® shadings feature soft adjustable fabric vanes that appear to be floating between two sheer fabric panels that beautifully diffuse harsh sunlight. Simply tilt the vanes to achieve your desired level of light and privacy. The Top-Down / Bottom-Up option allows the shading to be lowered from the top or raised from the bottom for more variable light control and privacy.

The classic white color palate combines chrome fixtures and black iron lighting to create a traditional bath with farmhouse accents. White marble and white subway tile are both elegant and timeless. The free standing tub with iron lighting above is an inviting focal point of the room. The extra large shower also boasts a drying area and towel warmer.

New build dreams always require a clear design vision and this 3,650 sf home exemplifies that. Our clients desired a stylish, modern aesthetic with timeless elements to create balance throughout their home. With our clients intention in mind, we achieved an open concept floor plan complimented by an eye-catching open riser staircase. Custom designed features are showcased throughout, combined with glass and stone elements, subtle wood tones, and hand selected finishes. The entire home was designed with purpose and styled with carefully curated furnishings and decor that ties these complimenting elements together to achieve the end goal. At Avid Interior Design, our goal is to always take a highly conscious, detailed approach with our clients. With that focus for our Altadore project, we were able to create the desirable balance between timeless and modern, to make one more dream come true.

Attractive living as an architectural experiment: a 136-year-old water tower, a listed building with a spectacular 360-degree panorama view over the City of London. The task, to transform it into a superior residence, initially seemed an absolute impossibility. But when the owners came across architect Mike Collier, they had found a partner who was to make the impossible possible. The tower, which had been empty for decades, underwent radical renovation work and was extended by a four-storey cube containing kitchen, dining and living room - connected by glazed tunnels and a lift shaft. The kitchen, realised by Enclosure Interiors in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, with furniture from LEICHT is the very heart of living in this new building. Shiny white matt-lacquered kitchen fronts (AVANCE-LR), tone-on-tone with the worktops, reflect the light in the room and thus create expanse and openness. The surface of the handle-less kitchen fronts has a horizontal relief embossing; depending on the light incidence, this results in a vitally structured surface. The free-standing preparation isle with its vertical side panels with a seamlessly integrated sink represents the transition between kitchen and living room. The fronts of the floor units facing the dining table were extended to the floor to do away with the plinth typical of most kitchens. Ceiling-high tall units on the wall provide plenty of storage space; the electrical appliances are integrated here invisible to the eye. Floor units on a high plinth which thus appear to be floating form the actual cooking centre within the kitchen, attached to the wall. Located on a heritage-lined street in Melbourne’s Williamstown, a young family were seeking a contemporary home with ample room to grow. Benni Trajcevski of Achieve Design Group answered their call, creating the epitome of modern living concealed behind a modest façade. To achieve the long wish list including large indoor and outdoor gathering spaces to entertain family and friends, separate adult and children living and sleeping zones, and a pool suitable for year-round use, Benni has maximised every inch of the block. Seamless transitional spaces link inside with out. This flow between the indoors and outdoors is a key feature of the home, achieved through generous open floor planning and glazing. For example, large hidden sliding doors allow the pool to be closed-off for use in winter; acrylic glass panels link the pool with the sunken lounge, which includes a fire pit for year-round comfort. The inclusion of a courtyard and voids throughout create separate useable zones while maintaining the feeling of spaciousness. Orientated to the north and surrounded with floor to ceiling windows to optimise natural light, the courtyard divides the formal lounge area with the informal living area, while the first floor is divided into four separate wings for privacy and functionality. The interiors are detailed with quality materials and finishes to achieve a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic. Contrasting materials in muted tones, including tiles, steel and lightweight timbers are featured throughout. Corian and a moss green wall are unexpected features.

Straight, clean lines were the ideas behind this renovated space. By using a simple glass tile inlay in the center of the main tub wall, we were able to achieve a beautiful space to bathe.
