We worked with Steven Allen Designs on a recent remodel and addition to our home and could not be more thrilled with the results. We added a second floor to our home, and re-imagined a large chunk of the downstairs in the process. Stephen's design for the space was both creative and practical. He went well beyond what we had hoped for our home, and brought an incredible level of beauty and customization. His ideas for material selections, space configurations, and small touches and details throughout resulted in a home more beautiful than we could have imagined.
While the finished product is absolutely stunning, our favorite part may actually have been the process itself. The transparency Stephen offered was incredible. Finances, scopes, and timelines were communicated with an incredible level of detail, clarity, and precision, all in a customer-friendly portal. Weekly in-person meetings allowed for frequent check-ins, and outside of those times, Stephen and his team were always super responsive.
We've done several other large-scale renovations in the past and this was our favorite project by far, due entirely to working with Steven Allen Designs. We couldn't recommend them more highly.

Our home was flooded in Harvey, we contacted Steven Allen Design, and they went into action to start the cleaning up process and then rebuilding of our home. They used quality trades, and we worked together to not only rebuild our home, but make it even better! They did not take short cuts, they made sure all was up to code. We had weekly update meetings so that we knew what was going to be scheduled and when.

I would recommend staying away from this firm. My wife and I communicated a firm budget to them. They said that the scale of our renovation was doable within that budget, then they took us to two other properties that were also within that budget.
So, we signed an commitment agreement for around 8 or 10k. We paid half up front. They proceeded to give us 3 bids, all above our price range -- one was double our budget! When we said that we weren't going to be able to proceed at those numbers, they kept all the money, refusing to refund any of it but $300.

The minute I met Stephen at our first consultation I knew it was the perfect match. Having done a few remodels in the past, I was looking for someone with fresh, new and out of the box ideas and not your basic "cookie cutter remodel". Steven Allen Designs was it. Stephen and I seemed to be on the same page from that day on. His cutting edge approach, execution and delivery went way beyond our dreams. He made our dreams a reality and then some. The kitchen, master bath, guest bath and laundry room (plus numerous small items) are something only a true artisan can deliver.
I look forward to the next remodel with Steven Allen Designs.

Steven and his crew were always professional, clean and "made things right" throughout our home remodel. Steven has a fresh, new designer's eye with everything he plans and executes. He listened to us and what we wanted and he delivered 110%. We couldn't be happier with our remodel which consisted of our kitchen, 2 baths, laundry room, and natural gas installation.
Steven's outstanding traits are being organized and communicated with us constantly and effectively. He also provided great appliances at a reasonable cost and budgeted all items with phenomenal detail.

I loved working with Steven. He is a wonderful designer who took my ideas and added suggestions that tied everything together. He is knowledgeable about sources and availability of material. He was responsive and communicative throughout the project and understood my concerns about staying within my budget. I told Steven that I wanted the island to be a focal point and a unique, artistic piece. We found the perfect piece of mesquite and he designed and built just what I envisioned. His work crew were respectful, polite and sensitive about cleaning up each day. Best of all, I believe that Steven cared about my kitchen as much as I did!
