This serene and spacious bathroom blends coastal charm with classic functionality. Soft blue walls and white shiplap paneling evoke a calming, breezy ambiance, while natural wood cabinetry adds warmth and balance. A double vanity provides ample storage and counter space, complemented by a cozy makeup station perfectly situated beneath a sunlit window. The walk-in glass shower features a built-in bench and timeless white subway tile, offering both comfort and elegance. Thoughtful touches like a towel warmer, patterned floor tile, and minimalist lighting complete the look, creating a fresh, inviting escape that feels both modern and timeless.

Now separate from the master bathroom, this new stunning guest bathroom dares to impress with its impressive walk-in shower designed with an Aura Shell accent wall, Tesoro tile surround, and a raindrop tile floor. Adding to the contemporary feel is the functional, frameless rolling shower door.
Other striking features include a large mirror with built-in lighting and a built-in vanity using the same Dura Supreme cabinetry used in the master bathroom.

Down-to-studs remodel and second floor addition. The original house was a simple plain ranch house with a layout that didn’t function well for the family. We changed the house to a contemporary Mediterranean with an eclectic mix of details. Space was limited by City Planning requirements so an important aspect of the design was to optimize every bit of space, both inside and outside. The living space extends out to functional places in the back and front yards: a private shaded back yard and a sunny seating area in the front yard off the kitchen where neighbors can easily mingle with the family. A Japanese bath off the master bedroom upstairs overlooks a private roof deck which is screened from neighbors’ views by a trellis with plants growing from planter boxes and with lanterns hanging from a trellis above.

This was a very outdated, poorly designed bathroom that we wanted to update with a much more modern, functional design; but keep a bit of a rustic appeal to fit in this comfy country home. We combined a small 1 1/2 bathroom design into a much larger open bathroom. By moving the wet area, we were able to give them a more functional design, with plenty of badly needed storage space. We used a distressed wood look porcelain tile to keep the rustic appeal, while incorporating some cleaner lines and modern features.

This beautiful French Provincial home is set on 10 acres, nestled perfectly in the oak trees. The original home was built in 1974 and had two large additions added; a great room in 1990 and a main floor master suite in 2001. This was my dream project: a full gut renovation of the entire 4,300 square foot home! I contracted the project myself, and we finished the interior remodel in just six months. The exterior received complete attention as well. The 1970s mottled brown brick went white to completely transform the look from dated to classic French. Inside, walls were removed and doorways widened to create an open floor plan that functions so well for everyday living as well as entertaining. The white walls and white trim make everything new, fresh and bright. It is so rewarding to see something old transformed into something new, more beautiful and more functional.

USI Remodeling recently completed a luxury master bath design in Colleyville, showcasing how thoughtful planning and craftsmanship can feature function and style. This master design was geared to the creation of a zero entry, doorless and glass free shower enclosure. The transitional master bath style feels indulgent yet completely masks the practical quality of life support systems integrated throughout the suite.

The Inspiration for this master bathroom remodel was the homeowners' desire for improved functionality of this small bath and updated design and products befitting the English Cottage style home. The goals for this projects were:
1. Redesign the bath to accommodate a more functional floor plan, better accessibility and storage.
2. Create the illusion of a larger space as the homeowners stated "the space felt too small and crammed in".
3. a "warmer and cozy feel, for the bath to become a comfortable and relaxing refuge".
The arch to the shower was raised 3", opening the space visually to the bath and maintaining the English cottage charm.
The vanity area features a Kohler recessed medicine cabinet that fits appropriately on top of the chair rail, a traditional three bulb light fixture, and a neo traditional designed Kohler Tresham rectangular sink. The goal was to create clean lines and use the geometric form of the Delta Dryden lavatory faucet.
Brazilian Bordeax Siena Granite was selected for its organic, warm, and lighter background colors consisting mainly of cream with burgundy flowing throughout, drawing out the rich hues of the cabinetry.
The toilet and tub were relocated on the opposite wall, creating an easily accessible and functional work space. The wainscoting and chair rail extend into the shower in a linear fashion. The basket weave pattern of the floor adds a visual and tactual texture.

This remodel project in Kirkland involved a new master bath and laundry room. The master bath was once a dark and dated space, but was transformed into a bright, open and inviting space that provides the perfect ambiance and functionality for getting ready for the day.

Designed to stay clutter free, the shower features a built in recessed niche & a large bench seat, to organize the homeowners shower products. The two person shower outfitted with 3 showering components, encourages shared time. Showering configurations invite the owners to enjoy personalized spa settings together, including a ceiling mounted rain shower head, & a multi- functional shower head and handheld with a pivot for precise positioning.
Vertical wall tiles mixed with blue glass mosaic tiles create visual interest. The pebble floor not only feels amazing underfoot but adds an unexpected twist to this modern downtown retreat.

The homeowners' desire to keep as much natural light as possible led to centralizing many of this bathroom's functions. The shower, for example, is hidden behind the vanity shown in this photo.

Location: McLean, VA, USA
Our newest custom modern home, located in the heart of McLean, Virginia measures just over 8,700 square feet.
Situated on a beautiful lot on Old Chesterbrook Road, the modern home design takes advantage of the lot’s natural contours and sight-lines. Spread throughout three levels, the home contains five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, one half-bath, and a three-car garage.
The main level of our modern home design features an open-floor plan designed to entertain family and friends. The entry flows into both the grand dining room and the central area, dedicated to the kitchen, breakfast and a double height great room that opens to a large outdoor deck with picturesque views of the expansive backyard. Located just off the garage is a functional mudroom that features plenty of storage space. In addition to a large home office and powder room, the entire left wing is dedicated to a private master suite with an expansive custom his/her walk-in closet, a master bath with a rainfall shower and a free-standing soaking tub with his/her vanities.
The upper level of our modern home design features three generously sized en-suite bedrooms with full baths and closets with a full-size laundry room with plenty of storage space.
The lower level of our modern home design also features an en-suite guest bedroom with full bath and walk-in closets amenities. It also includes an expansive recreational room with a glass enclosed wine cellar to house your prized wine collection. To finish out the lower level, we added a full exercise room paired with a full bath with direct access to the outdoor terrace and complimented the house with plenty of storage space.
The materials we used for our modern home design are of the highest quality brands. We wanted to hand-select materials that would last for years to come, require little to no maintenance, and compliment the modern aesthetic of the home. The home features aluminum-clad oversized windows, Nichiha rectangular siding, and brick with a pastel finish; all brought together under a vacation style hip roof.
Overall, we wanted to create a modern home design that feels like a retreat but still offers all the required amenities a family needs to keep up with the fast pace of Northern Virginia.

Zen and beautiful is actually what we designed. The long linear built-in cabinets and double modern sinks is not only functional but very modern. We love how the tub and shower flow effortlessly in the space.

About five years ago, these homeowners saw the potential in a brick-and-oak-heavy, wallpaper-bedecked, 1990s-in-all-the-wrong-ways home tucked in a wooded patch among fields somewhere between Indianapolis and Bloomington. Their first project with SYH was a kitchen remodel, a total overhaul completed by JL Benton Contracting, that added color and function for this family of three (not counting the cats). A couple years later, they were knocking on our door again to strip the ensuite bedroom of its ruffled valences and red carpet—a bold choice that ran right into the bathroom (!)—and make it a serene retreat. Color and function proved the goals yet again, and JL Benton was back to make the design reality. The clients thoughtfully chose to maximize their budget in order to get a whole lot of bells and whistles—details that undeniably change their daily experience of the space. The fantastic zero-entry shower is composed of handmade tile from Heath Ceramics of California. A window where the was none, a handsome teak bench, thoughtful niches, and Kohler fixtures in vibrant brushed nickel finish complete the shower. Custom mirrors and cabinetry by Stoll’s Woodworking, in both the bathroom and closet, elevate the whole design. What you don't see: heated floors, which everybody needs in Indiana.
