Inspiration for a large transitional master gray tile and porcelain tile bathroom remodel in Baltimore with an undermount sink, raised-panel cabinets, medium tone wood cabinets and marble countertops

This 1912 traditional style house sits on the edge of Cheesman Park with four levels that needed updating to better suit the young family’s needs. A custom wine room was constructed on the lower level to accommodate an area for entertaining guests. The main level was divided into a smaller family room area with a double door opening into the formal living room. The kitchen and butler’s pantry were combined and remodeled for better function. The second level master bathroom was relocated and created out of an adjacent bedroom, incorporating an existing fireplace and Juliet balcony that looks out to the park. A new staircase was constructed on the third level as a continuation of the grand staircase in the center of the house. A gathering and play space opens off the stairs and connects to the third-floor deck. A Jill & Jill bathroom remodel was constructed between the girls’ rooms.

A large, less restrictive space can sometimes be a challenge to remodel as the possibilities are truly unlimited. The goal was to create a functional and warm space that still felt open, clean and utilized the large space well. Custom glass panel cabinetry with sliding doors and a central drawer bank features ample storage and even multiple standard outlets inside. Vessel sinks sit atop the custom quartz counters that compliment the stone resin free standing bath. On the back side of the central wall is a walk in, from both sides, his and hers shower. Custom tile through out ties both sides of this large bath together. The shower features multiple niches.

Brian Klaas Inc designed and built this beautiful contemporary modern bathroom. With its ample marble tile with beautiful detailing and clean lines this bathroom is functional, elegant, and low maintenance.

A mountain retreat for an urban family of five, centered on coming together over games in the great room. Every detail speaks to the parents’ parallel priorities—sophistication and function—a twofold mission epitomized by the living area, where a cashmere sectional—perfect for piling atop as a family—folds around two coffee tables with hidden storage drawers. Upstairs, bedrooms serve as serene enclaves, with mountain views complemented by statement lighting like Owen Mortensen’s mesmerizing tumbleweed chandelier. No matter the moment, the residence remains rooted in the family’s intimate rhythms.

After.......... and happily ever after. While the bathroom has plenty of space, the clients wanted to update they style to better suit their tastes and capture the ocean and sky views. We removed a water closet from the outside wall that obstructed views (far end) also allowing the vanity mirrors to reflect the spectacular view. The contemporary master suite features a standout custom upholstered headboard with wood headboard frame and upholstered bed frame. The owners of this home, completed in 2017, also installed blind pockets, to allow them to darken the room with blackout shades when needed, that also conceal sheer custom drapery that showcases the lake views from full floor to ceiling windows while also softening the look and feel of the room. The cove ceiling includes hidden LED lighting which adds architectural detail and function. The intimate sitting area in front of the floor to ceiling windows gives an added warmth to the room while the wide plank French oak floors in a neutral palate allow the elements of this room to really shine.

A fresh take on traditional style, this sprawling suburban home draws its occupants together in beautifully, comfortably designed spaces that gather family members for companionship, conversation, and conviviality. At the same time, it adroitly accommodates a crowd, and facilitates large-scale entertaining with ease. This balance of private intimacy and public welcome is the result of Soucie Horner’s deft remodeling of the original floor plan and creation of an all-new wing comprising functional spaces including a mudroom, powder room, laundry room, and home office, along with an exciting, three-room teen suite above. A quietly orchestrated symphony of grayed blues unites this home, from Soucie Horner Collections custom furniture and rugs, to objects, accessories, and decorative exclamationpoints that punctuate the carefully synthesized interiors. A discerning demonstration of family-friendly living at its finest.

We were called in to update the 80s master bathroom with a carpet, large built-in tub that took up a lot of space and was hardly used, and cabinetry that needed improved functionality. The goal of this project was to come up with a new layout to include, among other things, a makeup area for her and a freestanding tub, and design a sophisticated spa-retreat for the owners.

This was a dream project! The clients purchased this 1880s home and wanted to renovate it for their family to live in. It was a true labor of love, and their commitment to getting the details right was admirable. We rehabilitated doors and windows and flooring wherever we could, we milled trim work to match existing and carved our own door rosettes to ensure the historic details were beautifully carried through. Every finish was made with consideration of wanting a home that would feel historic with integrity, yet would also function for the family and extend into the future as long possible. We were not interested in what is popular or trendy but rather wanted to honor what was right for the home.
