Inspiration for a large timeless master white tile and porcelain tile porcelain tile doorless shower remodel in Providence with furniture-like cabinets, white cabinets, a two-piece toilet, beige walls, an undermount sink and quartz countertops

This new 1,700 sf two-story single family residence for a young couple required a minimum of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, packaged to fit unobtrusively in an older low-key residential neighborhood. The house is located on a small non-conforming lot. In order to get the maximum out of this small footprint, we virtually eliminated areas such as hallways to capture as much living space. We made the house feel larger by giving the ground floor higher ceilings, provided ample natural lighting, captured elongated sight lines out of view windows, and used outdoor areas as extended living spaces. To help the building be a “good neighbor,” we set back the house on the lot to minimize visual volume, creating a friendly, social semi-public front porch. We designed with multiple step-back levels to create an intimacy in scale. The garage is on one level, the main house is on another higher level. The upper floor is set back even further to reduce visual impact. By designing a single car garage with exterior tandem parking, we minimized the amount of yard space taken up with parking. The landscaping and permeable cobblestone walkway up to the house serves double duty as part of the city required parking space. The final building solution incorporated a variety of significant cost saving features, including a floor plan that made the most of the natural topography of the site and allowed access to utilities’ crawl spaces. We avoided expensive excavation by using slab on grade at the ground floor. Retaining walls also doubled as building walls.

The 108 year old home was inspiration for a timeless and classic design wiile contemporary features provide balance and sophistication. Local artists Johnathan Adams Photography and Corbin Bronze Sculptures add a touch of class and beauty. Cabinetry features inset door and drawer fronts with exposed solid brass finial hinges. The armoire style built-ins are Maple painted with Sherwin Williams Dorian Gray with brushed brass handles. Solid Walnut island features a Cambria quartz countertop, glass knobs, and brass pulls. Custom designed 6 piece crown molding package. Vanity seating area features a velvet jewelry tray in the drawer and custom cosmetic caddy that pops out with a touch, Walnut mirror frame, and Cambria quartz top. Recessed LED lighing and beautiful contemporary chandelier. Hardwood floors are original to the home. Environmentally friendly room! All wood in cabinetry is formaldehyde-free FSC certified as coming from sustainibly managed forests. Wall covering is a commercial grade vinyl made from recycled plastic bottles. No or Low VOC paints and stains. LED lighting and Greenguard certified Cambria quartz countertops. Adding to the eco footprint, all artists and craftsmen were local within a 50 mile radius. Ideal for extensive entertaining and comfortable everyday living, we designed an open floor plan that offered easy flow between the living room, bar, dining space and kitchen. Multiple horizontal and vertical offsets created visual interest on all four elevations while custom-built light fixtures produced sleek task lighting in work areas without sacrificing style. To create additional texture and character, we utilized transitional architecture by uses massing, materials, and lines found in the Hill Country in new ways with architectural limestone blocks, rough chopped Texas limestone, and stucco with metal reveals. Particular consideration was given to the views visible from bedrooms as well as always achieving cross-lighting to capture as much natural light as possible, as seen in the master bath where both windows in the wet room light the space throughout the day. We also featured aluminum clad wood window package, an anodized aluminum window wall in the living room, and a custom design steel and glass entry door.

Amy Troute Inspired Interior Design partnered with the Woodhill Homes and Sunriver build teams in 2022 to curate two interior finish packages and the exterior palette for Forestbrook, a stunning master planned vacation rental neighborhood within Central Oregon’s Caldera Springs community. The property, nestled among towering Ponderosa pines, will eventually welcome over 70 customized vacation homes. Our High Desert Retreat is our first fully furnished Forestbrook home - a getaway for our clients and their family and a year-round vacation rental. The owners call Arizona home, and that warm desert palette inspired the aesthetic of their new retreat.
