Location: Nantucket, MA, USA A gorgeous New England beach compound which features a tranquil, sophisticated kitchen. The blue backsplash is the perfect backdrop to a sunny breakfast at the island or a glamorous dinner party in the paneled banquet. The cabinets are accented with hand-made European hardware that enhances the bespoke nature of the kitchen. The children's bathroom has a fun penny tile on the floor juxtaposed against the over-sized subway wall tile. To add a serene and soothing ambience to this 64th-floor pied-à-terre, our NYC design studio chose a relaxing color palette of soft blues, grays, and creams to reflect the light streaming in through floor-to-ceiling windows. A custom work desk perfectly matches the curved windows for expansive views of Downtown, the Hudson River, and Uptown. The bedroom is a peaceful sanctuary for the soul, with soft colors and bedding to induce instant relaxation. Elegant bar chairs in the spacious open-concept kitchen reflect the calming feel of the rest of the home.

This charming cape located in Bonnet Shores, Narragansett, RI was in need of updating and adding to in support of this five person family. We approached this project with an attitude of creating a comfortable, small scale addition / renovation that would not overwhelm the area. We instead created an addition that has a great amount of detail and functionality while adding just the right amount of space for everyone in the family. As this is a vacation home located by the ocean; we wanted to create enough space for entertaining and the flow of the living areas was an important consideration. The entertainment room is small enough for movie watching, the living room is spacious enough for entertaining or curling up with a book, the sun porch is perfectly positioned to capture the sun’s rays while offering views to the private beach club. The family can go easily from the enlarged kitchen to the screened porch with views to the private beach to the southwest and to the Jamestown bridge to the northeast. The bedrooms are spacious enough for each family member with one doubling as a comfortable guest suite. The master bedroom suite offers the same views to the southwest and northeast, appreciating the views to the beach club and Jamestown Bridge. The evening views from the master offer the Jamestown Bridge fully lit in spectacular glory. We outfitted the master with a second floor balcony space to the southwest that serves perfectly for morning coffee or evening cocktails. This home exemplifies how we approach our designs. We did not simply want to add large spaces for the sake of additional living area. We wanted to provide a comfortable environment for this family and offer the detail that maintains the character of the existing cape charm without overdeveloping the site, which is the largest parcel in Bonnet Shores. This modern lake house is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The residence overlooks a mountain lake with expansive mountain views beyond. The design ties the home to its surroundings and enhances the ability to experience both home and nature together. The entry level serves as the primary living space and is situated into three groupings; the Great Room, the Guest Suite and the Master Suite. A glass connector links the Master Suite, providing privacy and the opportunity for terrace and garden areas. Won a 2013 AIANC Design Award. Featured in the Austrian magazine, More Than Design. Featured in Carolina Home and Garden, Summer 2015.

A perfectly symmetrical design makes the floating mirror disappear in this master bath. A large soaking tub makes for a nice place to relax.
