We continued the "Flat White" throughout the home and into the master bath. The inspiration was the herringbone marble tile. The bathroom is a large one with lots of room for a soaking tub and walk in shower complete with a heated floor, lighted mirrors, and a garage door style cabinet area for those items you need plugged in but don't want to see!

Find the right local pro for your project

A dated, all white bathroom gets a face lift. The client desired to remodel their Master Bathroom into a charming & relaxing space, while staying within the existing footprint. In this Golden Valley, MN bathroom remodel, the traditional style fixtures coordinate with other elements in the home and a warm color palette with accents of green was selected to coordinate with Master Bedroom.
Some of the client’s favorite features is the new vanity with a counter wall cabinet for storage of toiletries & make up. A make-up mirror is mounted on the side and folds back and out of the way. Brushed gold finishes on the plumbing & light fixtures blend nicely with the warm tones of the marble tile. A damask print wallcovering of green & gold along with the honed green granite counter top compliments the green color palette in the Master Bedroom. The raised granite ledge on the side of the tub is a great place set a candle or glass of wine while relaxing in the new bubble massage air bath by Kohler. A recessed niche above the toilet adds character to the toilet/tub room, while crown and tile base moulding finish off the room nicely.

This cramped 1970s master bathroom was in need of an organized overhaul with modern selections. A custom barn door with mirror on both sides and unique overlay on one side creates a beautiful invitation to this retreat. The particularly designed bathroom floor provides an eye catching iridescent tile strip that is repeated in the shower as the vertical band. Opposite of the new shower fixtures is a tall bump-in with shower shelves where the lowest shelf doubles as a toe ledge for shaving. The new sink vanity cabinets offer optimal organizational areas including a drawer that incorporates a USB plug-in for a charging station and an outlet for all the hair styling tools. Outside this bathroom area is a special dressing area with custom cabinets to incorporate storage and organization for laundry hampers, clothes, jewelry and purses. This homeowner had inherited a small, bleak, builder grade master bathroom that was inexplicably chopped up into tiny pieces with various walls and doorways in between the fixtures.
Starting a new life after the loss of a loved one, she wanted to create a master bath refuge designed specifically for her. If a bathroom could represent light, joy, and peace, that is what she wanted.
We started by choosing a creamy yellow base color, accented with the sparkle of glass mosaic. All the extra walls came tumbling down, and we bumped out the exterior wall with a generously proportioned bay window and window seat.
Next we reconfigured the fixtures, discarding a tired fiberglass bath/shower unit and replacing it with a full wall of glass across the back of the room, defining a spacious shower with a fold down teak bench. A simple and beautiful basin sink sits on a luxuriously sized vanity, while custom cabinetry goes up the wall and over the double entry doors.
Finally, the focal point of the entire room is the custom designed tile on the back wall of the shower. The owner wanted to feel as if she was in a rainforest under a beautiful tree.
To execute this custom tile mural we worked closely with the tile setters, literally laying the entire wall of tiles out on the floor of the adjacent room for them to transfer to the actual wall. With a quiet backdrop of unassuming white subway tile, we reconfigured mosaic sheets to the forms we required, using specifically colored grout to bring each element to life.
The result is a fully functional personal, peaceful, sunny retreat.
