The remodel began by replacing the existing overbearing built-in tub, that took up valuable floor space, with an elegant free-standing model. This tiny and uninspired basement level Master Bath was dark, grossly under scaled and in no way reflected the vintage character infused throughout the rest of this A-frame home. Main goals were to enlarge the bathroom, add storage, relocate the exposed water heater to garage, and add natural light. It was also critical to relocate the garage entry that previously led guests through the Master closet. The solution was a complete gut and new plan, which involved rerouting HVAC, plumbing and electrical. The bathroom was enlarged by capturing part of the inefficient closet, a private entry hall was added and every storage opportunity was utilized. Adding natural light at basement level proved a major challenge and was accomplished by adding a window under the eaves of the roof. Distressed cabinets, subway tile, articulating mirrors and classic fixtures create a refreshingly modern take on a vintage bathroom. The result is charming, light and timeless - unrecognizable from the original!

This master bath remodel proves that not all contractors are equal. After being told that this new plumbing arrangement wouldn't work by two other companies we were able to give this client the bathroom of her dreams. Along with the updated floorplan, all the materials and finishes were updated for a more modern feel. The new vanity cabinetry and quartz countertops provide plenty of storage space. Large mirrors were and wall sconces were addedl for a sleek, finished look. Combining both traditional elements and contemporary elements created a truly timeless and transitional look. The high-style but low-maintenance finishes ensure this bathroom will look fabulous for years to come.

#PennyPark proves that you can pack a lot of style in a small space! We put a slightly modern twist on a 1930's classic with this master bath remodel. Period style hex and dot tile floor were traded for a large format hexagon. Traditional brass finishes were kept but in a sleeker plumbing style. And a juxtaposition of Carrara marble and warm afrormosia wood is a marriage made in heaven.
