In keeping with ADA compliance guidelines, we designed reduced-height cabinetry into the playroom/kitchenette and bathroom areas, each with a deep 9″ high toe kick. We also created a zero clearance threshold shower into the master bathroom. A wheelchair radius of 78 inches allowed space for ease of movement between essential features in the bathroom, to include the sink, toilet, shower, and soaking tub. The tile was also intentionally chosen for the bathroom for its aesthetics, wearability, and easy-to-clean properties.

The original space is housed inside of a true log home (same house as the gorgeous Evergreen Kitchen remodel we completed last year) and so the same challenges were present. Moreso than the kitchen, dealing with the logs was very difficult. The original closet had shelves and storage pieces attached to the logs, but over time the logs shifted and expanded, causing these shelving units to detach and break. Our plan for the new closet was to construct an independent framing structure to which the new cabinetry could be attached, preventing shifting and breaking over time. This reduced the overall depth of the clear closet space, but allowed for a multitude of gorgeous cabinet boxes to be integrated into the space where there was never true storage before. We shifted the depths of each cabinet moving down through the space to allow for as much walkable space as possible while still providing storage. With a mix of drawers, hanging bars, roll out trays, and open shelving, this closet is a true beauty with lots of storage opportunity!

The owners of this custom home wanted to update it to reflect their esthetic. A large soaking tub was removed, window reduced in size, roofline modified and the commode room was restructured to incorporate a new Linen closet. Grey and black mosaic tiles for the floor and a basket weave gray and black shower floor, bring the room together. New Cherry with a dark stain built out the closet. A new island dresser was installed and large shoe cubbie wall was installed. The shower is walk in, no door. His and Hers niches, Kohler DTV showering system makes this a pleasure to wake up to every morning.

The composition of this facade is a perfect reincarnation of the key principles of Andrea Palladio, the Renaissance master. The proportions of the facade are based on the golden ratio; there is perfect symmetry between the two wings of the building; the first floor has arched windows complemented with rectangular windows in the second floor with slightly reduced dimensions; the sandstone trims mimic Palladio's own, albeit simplified and modernized. We planted cypress trees and oleanders on the flat roofs, which make the building appear wider and provide a relaxing vista from the second floor rooms.

This larger home, constructed on Martha’s Vineyard, is a collection of informal, dormered gable components and grounding one-story, shed-roof elements that reduce its overall scale. Designed to take advantage of a gently sloping up-Island property, this 5500 sq. ft. (not including finished basement) six-bedroom home includes staggered floor levels that climb from the front of the site to the rear. Generous, open living space on the entry level -- anchored on the west end by a fireplace and on the east end by the kitchen -- borders a dining area that’s nestled under a roof which also shelters the adjacent wrap-around porch. A deck off the rear of the dining space extends around the kitchen and is easily accessible from the nearby family room, too. Bedrooms occupy the other above-grade levels, including, at the upper-most level, the master suite comprised of a study, roof deck, master bath, walk-in closets and the master bedroom. A clean-lined interior of warm neutrals sets a soothing tone in which the Island landscape is welcomed through expansive windows, porches and decks. Clad in white cedar shingles with a red cedar roof, the West Tisbury House will softly weather in-tune with its meadow site. The interior of the home went from Colonial to Classic Lodge without changing the footprint of the home. Columns were removed, fur downs removed that defined space, fireplace relocated, kitchen layout and direction changed, breakfast room and sitting room flip flopped, study reduced in size, entry to master bedroom changed, master suite completely re-arranged and enlarged, custom hand railing designed to open up stairwell, hardwood added to stairs, solid knotty alder 8’ doors added, knotty alder crown moldings added, reclaimed beamed ceiling grid, tongue and groove ceiling in kitchen, knotty alder cabinetry, leather finish to granite, seeded glass insets, custom door to panty to showcase an antique stained glass window from childhood church, custom doors and handles made for study entry, shredded straw added to wall texture, custom glazing done to all walls, wood floor remnants created an antique quilt pattern for the back wall of the powder bath, custom wall treatment created by designer, and a mixture of new and antique furnishing were added, all to create a warm, yet lived in feeling for this special family. A new central stone wall reversed with an over scaled fireplace and reclaimed flooring from the East became the anchor for this level of the home. Removing all the “divisions” of space and using a unified surface made unused rooms, part of the daily living for this family. This project has many different features. We designed custom, wood-free overhead garage doors to match the home's exterior features. The doors were installed using a high-lift operating system, which makes room for the customized car lift. We used a LiftMaster Jackshaft opener as the operator for these high-lifted overhead garage doors. This makes it easy and convenient to park more cars inside your existing garage, maximize space and reduce clutter. The project was custom-built and installed by Cedar Park Overhead Doors, which has been serving the greater Austin, TX area for more than 30 years.

The Cano Eixo Team and The Bath Studio enjoyed working with this customer to bring them their updated and dream bathroom. With framed mirrors, new vanity of his and hers that has a built in makeup area. New countertop under mount sinks, faucets, and lighting. The shower area we were able to expand it how the customer wanted addressing grab bars and building a new tub being able to reduce the overall tub space and adding grab bars there too. This tub is a soaker tub as well with a hand shower included.
