This bedroom on Sunset Cliffs in Sand Diego was designed for a lovely and well-traveled couple who likes to keep their space minimal and organized. They like color and simplicity. Huge urban master carpeted bedroom photo in Other with beige walls

For this renovation, the basic layout functioned well for the homeowners, but the bathroom was feeling dated and in need of an overhaul. We replaced a bulky tub deck with a more scaled back and refined surround, complete with a paneled front to match the custom his and hers vanities. A wing wall was removed to allow light in and create a more open feel. A prefabricated shower pan and dated sliders were replaced with a custom tiled shower and frameless glass. We used a combination of natural travertine and porcelain tiles to provide visual warmth to the expansive bathroom. The antiqued/glazed vanities and the exotic quartzite countertops with their subtle coloration and veining further convey the homeowner’s classic style. Stacy Zarin Goldberg Photography

Within the scope of the project we were asked to completely redesign a Master Suite and Kitchen in a 1400 sf residence. The home is essentially an art gallery as the owner continues to grow his collection of modern art. The inspiration for our design was to create a sleek White palette to showcase the collection. The white cabinets, light floors, marble counter top and backlit floating panels really let the Art pop. The bar and wine fridge can be hidden when not entertaining to keep the sleek design. Walk-in closet - small transitional gender-neutral walk-in closet idea in Other with flat-panel cabinets and white cabinets

The piece de resistance of the master bath just might be the over sized freestanding tub. Its generous proportions fit right in with the scale of the space, and whether bathing small children or taking a relaxing soak, it is the place to be. An original artwork by friend and artist Ann Carrington adorns the wall above the tub. Constructed of buttons sewn onto black velvet, the piece is from her Pearly Queens series. The shimmering opalescent buttons catch light from the window, adding a sense of pure luxury to this corner of the room. Beyond the tub is an antique brass candelabra that Cortney has repurposed into a rack for her necklace collection. The goal with this project was to create a functional kids’ bathroom for this family of five and the elegant master bath that their parents so deserve. The client was looking for classic, clean style but with unique details. In the kids’ bathroom, we did floor to ceiling shiplap on the walls and doors. We picked a textured porcelain for the floor tile to reduce slips! The master has herringbone Dolomite marble in two scales on the floor and shower floor, and we used the same Dolomite marble for the floor to ceiling feature wall. Both bathrooms feature custom vanities and modern polished chrome plumbing fixtures. The overall look is coastal, fresh and sophisticated.

A refined sanctuary for busy parents, this serene master bath features large scale black floor tile, and an amazingly elegant free-standing tub.
