Budget demanded keeping the whirlpool tub and existing plumbing locations while transforming the space to a serene environment in keeping with the house. All drawers are functional on the floating vanity not allowing the plumbing trap to take away storage space. Mirrors conceal storage and have contemporary styling and LED lighting. The undulating limestone backsplash adds textural interest with a minimal design. Sleek large-scale brick patterned flooring creates a more tranquil space than the previous black and white checkerboard environment. The clients desired a ‘his and her’ arrangement in this closet that required more organization. Faux wenge melamine doors, instead of wood veneer, met budget requirements. Lucite hardware up the style and frosted glass door panels lighten up the dark finishes and provide neatness and functionality by allowing an orderly way to glimpse what is hidden inside. The homeowners' dreamed of an Ofuro style soaking tub. We worked together to make that a reality. Our employees custom milled a surround of Ofuro cedar for the soaking tub. The steps are removable for cleaning and to lessen the occurrence of trapped moisture. The shelves are also custom cedar with a "fish scale" tile backing.

We created this beautiful accessible bathroom in Carlsbad to give our client a more functional space. We designed this unique bath, specific to the client's specifications to make it more wheel chair accessible. Features such as the roll in shower, roll up vanity and the ability to use her chair for flexibility over the fixed wall mounted seat allow her to be more independent in this bathroom. Safety was another significant factor for the room. We added support bars in all areas and with maximum flexibility to allow the client to perform all bathing functions independently, and all were positioned after carefully recreating her movements. We met the objectives of functionality and safety without compromising beauty in this aging in place bathroom. Travertine-look porcelain tile was used in a large format on the shower walls to minimize grout lines and maximize ease of maintenance. A crema marfil marble mosaic in an elongated hex pattern was used in the shower room for it’s beauty and flexibility in sloped shower. A custom cabinet was made to the height ideal for our client’s use of the sink and a protective panel placed over the pea trap.

Inspiration for a small contemporary concrete floor powder room remodel in Austin with a wall-mount sink, a one-piece toilet and multicolored walls

This beautiful French Provincial home is set on 10 acres, nestled perfectly in the oak trees. The original home was built in 1974 and had two large additions added; a great room in 1990 and a main floor master suite in 2001. This was my dream project: a full gut renovation of the entire 4,300 square foot home! I contracted the project myself, and we finished the interior remodel in just six months. The exterior received complete attention as well. The 1970s mottled brown brick went white to completely transform the look from dated to classic French. Inside, walls were removed and doorways widened to create an open floor plan that functions so well for everyday living as well as entertaining. The white walls and white trim make everything new, fresh and bright. It is so rewarding to see something old transformed into something new, more beautiful and more functional.

Whole-house remodel of a hillside home in Seattle. The historically-significant ballroom was repurposed as a family/music room, and the once-small kitchen and adjacent spaces were combined to create an open area for cooking and gathering. A compact master bath was reconfigured to maximize the use of space, and a new main floor powder room provides knee space for accessibility.
