This is a master bathroom with a separate shower and tub area. The tub area was not being used so it was converted into a makeup vanity area. This was a full gut renovation, all tiles were removed. New floor to ceiling faux carrara porcelain 12x24 tiles were installed. Marble hexagon mosaic tiles were installed on the shower floor and a sliding glass shower door replaced the dated swinging door. A shower grab bar was added for safety. Lighting was amplified with new ceiling recessed LED damp-rated lighting as well as new pendant lights flanking the vanity mirror.

Free Float is a pool house that continues UP's obsession with contextual contradiction. Located on a three acre estate in Sands Point NY, the modern pool house is juxtaposed against the existing traditional home. Using structural gymnastics, a column-free, simple shading area was created to protect occupants from the summer sun while still allowing the structure to feel light and open, maintaining views of the Long Island Sound and surrounding beaches. To create a cheerful bedroom that truly captured the joie-de-vivre of girlhood, we wanted to design a one-of-a-kind ceiling treatment. Flavor Paper’s multi-colored geometric Cuben wallpaper provides the room with an unexpected touch that urges guests to look up. A solid brass Jonathan Adler Puzzle Chandelier mirrors the wallpaper’s geometric pattern and adds a touch of glam. Photo credit: David Duncan Livingston
