The Impressive Studio City Mid-Century Exterior Masterpiece was a comprehensive interior and exterior remodel, revitalizing a dated property into a stunning modern sanctuary. The homeowners sought to blend mid-century design with a contemporary twist, emphasizing clean lines, natural materials, and expansive views. We transformed the exterior with a sleek wood-paneled entrance, smooth stucco walls, and minimalist landscaping, creating an inviting curb appeal that reflects the home's architectural roots. Large, custom glass doors seamlessly connect the indoors with the outdoors, bathing the interior in natural light and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Studio City landscape. Inside, we continued the mid-century theme by selecting warm wood flooring, an open-concept layout, and modern fixtures that merge style with comfort. The homeowners wanted a space that felt sophisticated yet warm, and our team worked closely with them throughout the project to ensure every detail met their vision. As a Studio City-based company, we took pride in sourcing local materials and embracing the area's aesthetic. This remodel has resulted in a mid-century masterpiece that not only enhances the home’s functionality but also stands as a true statement piece in the neighborhood.

We removed many of the interior walls that partitioned the house into small dark rooms, and opened the living spaces up to each other and to daylight and views. In doing so, we uncovered the big old FIR beams that support the broadly sloped roof, allowing the interior to read as a large open space under a sheltering roof plane as the dominant element – a classic mid-century motif.

Our homeowners approached us for design help shortly after purchasing a fixer upper. They wanted to redesign the home into an open concept plan. Their goal was something that would serve multiple functions: allow them to entertain small groups while accommodating their two small children not only now but into the future as they grow up and have social lives of their own. They wanted the kitchen opened up to the living room to create a Great Room. The living room was also in need of an update including the bulky, existing brick fireplace. They were interested in an aesthetic that would have a mid-century flair with a modern layout. We added built-in cabinetry on either side of the fireplace mimicking the wood and stain color true to the era. The adjacent Family Room, needed minor updates to carry the mid-century flavor throughout.

The Ellen DeGeneres Westwood Rectangular Dining Table crafted by Thomasville features a floating skirt design and legs with brass ferrules. It can extend to 124" with two 20" leaves (included). The Relaxed Mid-Century collection from Ellen DeGeneres features a blend of Danish and Italian inspired details. Hand-planed walnut veneers with a warm Mid-Century Walnut finish complement brushed brass hardware which sets the aesthetic tone for this furniture collection. Additional details such as cane, bronzed glass and rich leathers are introduced on select pieces to add depth and enhance the overall richness. The upholstery features a blend of fluid, enveloping curves and tufted traditional seating. Sofas range from curvaceous, flowing forms to angular, tufted, tight seat designs. This remodel took this 1950s Arcadia neighborhood bungalow back to its mid-century modern roots while providing the owners with a brand new modern kitchen and spacious great room. By using insulated horizontal metal siding, and large expanses of glass this low slung desert home stays both cool and bright. In this image this small bathroom is made to feel open and luxurious with an expansive book-matched cararra marble tile surround, chrome fixtures, a modern hanging vanity with large sink, chrome wall sconces, and mirrored cabinets.
