Design ideas for a mid-sized rustic drought-tolerant, rock and full sun backyard gravel landscaping in Melbourne for summer.

The clients were dismayed by their front-yard view of busy Scott Boulevard in Decatur, but they did not want to be boxed in by an evergreen hedge. Utility wires restricted allowable plants in most areas. Native grasses, wildflowers were combined with native shrubs to screen the busy four-lane road and create four-season interest. A beautiful, stained post-and-rail fence and gate backed with mesh helps keep children away from the road.

This project in Mission Viejo, CA was a mixture of lawn, weeds, outdated walkway and cracked concrete driveway. All that was removed and replaced with drought tolerant plants, soft set flagstone (mortar set where necessary), two rain tanks and various other accessories.
