Lacking adequate space for their growing family, the homeowners hired DJL Builders to add on to the side of their home and update the existing layout. DJL Builders built a master bedroom retreat with an en suite bathroom, updated windows and flooring throughout the home as well as creating a custom-built desk and mudroom off the garage to help keep everyday necessities organized. We designed a beautifully elegant and cozy master bedroom that gave royal vibes. We wanted our client to feel the richness of her new home as all parts of it became more and more cohesive. We created an accent wall behind her bed and added wooded slats to bring a modern and hip touch to it. High-end accent chairs as well as a custom-made TV unit to complete the necessities that a master bedroom needs. A large walk-up mirror and some large and beautiful artificial trees to bring in some warmth to the space.

Aesthetic Value: The custom tapered square newels with flowing stepped design of the balustrade create a beautiful but understated look. Adding to the welcoming feel of the foyer yet not overwhelming it. Stair Safety: The construction of the interlocking wood panel system creates a balustrade that is much more ridged. This removes the need for intermediated post that you sometimes find in traditional balustrades for them to meet code requirements. Quality: No joints or seams could show on the finished panel system. All parts were cnc cut for the most precise joinery possible. Technical Challenge: Since all the panels where fabricated off site super precise field dimensions were a necessity. Using those measurements and CNC fabrication, panels were created that fit perfectly together and on the site.

We took our Boulder clients through an amazing transformation! Almost every room in their home has been remodeled to better reflect their tastes and create spaces that functions better for their family. We utilized natural materials every step of the way and designed a balance of mid-century inspired touches and cool contemporary finishes. In the living room we removed the existing half-wall to open up the entry and dining room and create an easier transition between spaces. To make the fireplace the focal point of the living room we designed a beautiful wall of honed sandstone and sourced a reclaimed wood mantel. Increasing storage was a necessity for this home, so we added a much needed closet to the dining room, and designed semi custom floating cabinetry for the living room & dining room. We added a custom barn door to their family room to give them the option of closing the television off from the rest of their home. The clients really wanted to brighten up their dark kitchen, so we removed the black cabinets and red backsplash to make room for beautiful natural wood cabinets and a custom clay tile backsplash. Contemporary touches like a zero radius stainless steel sink, concrete light fixtures, and a double waterfall counter-top continue to echo the clean lines utilized through out the rest of the home. For the two first floor bathrooms we removed barrels full of mosaic tile and installed large scale white and grey tiles, making the rooms feel larger and reign in the visual texture. We continued to use the cool tones and clean lines in the bathrooms to tie them in with the rest of the home and give us a unified feel between spaces.

The homeowner is a retired professional and a passionate home chef who desired to have the finest in luxury appliances. They interviewed several large design build firms that just didnt listen to them. After approaching our company they discovered we were a perfect fit as we listened to their specific remodeling needs and were not concerned about making the sale. This couple entertains large crowds of people and their kitchen was tiny and outdated for their needs. We opened up the wall between the kitchen and dining room, removed an awkward drop ceiling, added square footage to the kitchen and dining room spaces. Finally adding exterior sliding door with a La Cantina Bi-Fold door. We moved and installed a new sink window at the wall between the kitchen and dining room. The new configuration allowed for more working area as well as much needed additional kitchen storage. An integrated flush Subzero Refrigerator and Freezer are the perfect for this home owners entertaining needs. The island features a Miele Range with and island sink, the second sink is a necessity for this Chef. The details are not overlooked in the cabinetry with the beveled door by Ovation Cabinetry available exclusively at Signature Designs Kitchen Bath in San Diego.

Lighter Materials used to reflect more light and add a vibrant feel.
